Thought we would try this cafe being local to the area as we heard it was under new manager but sadly it was still lacking any sense of professionalism. We sat for 20 minutes waiting to order until we realised you have to go and order at the take away counter although there were no signs to suggest this or the staff couldn't be bothered noticing we were sitting there.
Ordered the big breakfast which came with some strange sausages and told by the waitress they were gourmet. When we finished our big breakfast, the waitress bought out our toast. Wasn't anything flash or stand out compared to others in the area.

New Ownership has turned this cafe around. The proprieter Amanda is happy, cheerful and very welcoming. Tomato and bacon soup was fabulous, Seafood salad very tasty. Love the changes to decor and ambience, great to see the regular clientele building. Keep up the great work Amanda.

Am not sure why this place is called a cafe. It is more like a take away/fast food place and even then that is being generous. Came here during the week for a nice lunch on the beach. There is no beach view, no surf, no sand and is on a main road on a corner.
The decor was dreadful and more like a daycare than a cafe. The furniture is mismatched as is the colour scheme and we had to change tables a few times to find one that did not rock. We should have taken the hint then and left as it only continued to disappoint from there.
Wished we had checked out the eatability site rather than Hotfrog for the recommendations! Its a letdown to the area.

Upon arrival at the Surf Sun Sand Cafe, our group sat down and had to find our menus. After placing our order at the counter we wait at least 30 minutes before anything arrived at our table. When it start to arrive, half the meals came out before we even saw a drink. We had numerous concerns with our missing drinks, a meal missing half the stated ingredients and a missing meal. Upon raising our concerns with the young waitress she walked away halfway though stating our concerns.
Then the senior staff came out to talk to us and told us that our meals were not missing anything and we had to consult the menu to show him it was. When we mentioned our missing meal and drinks he stormed off and retrieved the order from the kitchen and told us we had not ordered them, when infact we had but an uninterested waitress had got the orders all wrong. I'm not sure if awful comes close to the disgusting and arrogant service we received.

Just came here for coffee. Wouldn't even bother trying the food. The coffee was the worst, cold and weak. Maybe the barista should consider doing the course again. Will be going elsewhere in the future. The place looks shocking, more like a take away shack rather than a cafe. The service is rude and abrupt. This is a great example of teenages that would rather be elsewhere. Won't be returning.

I love this place for its fresh and reasonable priced food. It's always friendly and the coffee's great too. A very relaxed place to enjoy brunch on a Sunday or anytime of the week. Very reliable in the fact that it sticks to its opening times and doesn't just please itself. So many in this area just never seem to be open so keep up the great work and we'll keep coming back!
