Bought some macarons and was impressed with the range of flavours that were available but was expecting higher quality since I have read that they have won awards for their macarons. The fillings could have had slightly more flavour and the shells were a tad dry but even so, they tasted good was just expecting more.

I enjoyed dinner at Mama Baba. Staff was very busy but still smiling and friendly, trying to make us feel welcome. Sat at the open kitchen bar area. It was awesome to see the chefs working away up close. One of the chefs gave us a 'leftover' salad. The food was rich and tasty. Definitely need to hit the gym now but well worth it.

Have been wanting to go to this restaurant for ages and finally did recently. But oh what a disappointment. The nachos was gluggy and cold and just horrible. The main courses were warm/tepid by the time they got to us. My main course was very floury and bland. This place seems to be hugely popular but given the lacklustre service and the very average meals, not sure what all the fuss is about. Perhaps, it was just a bad/off night.

Chapelli's is a decent fall-back option but it's hard to recommend for dinner, unless you're going there because everywhere else is closed.
The meals are alright, albeit a little over-priced for the quality, and the portions are generous.
Service is very hit-and-miss, with some of the wait staff very poor, and another couple - Andy, for one very good.
A decent place to go for a coffee, and not a bad option if you're looking for a restaurant meal at an unusually late hour, but otherwise try somewhere else.

I went here with my partner for our anniversary. The interior design was very glamourous, but that was about it, under the facade there was no depth. The wait staff were quite aloof and lacked personality and friendliness.
The oysters were under sized and not fresh, you had to scrape them out of their shell and they would shred into mush.
The waiter forgot our complimentary bread, and when we asked for it in the middle of service, it still never came. The eye fillet was quite small, and for the size was over priced. Mid way through eating our steaks, we then received the selection of mustards to accompany our meal but it was too late, my partner had nearly finished his steak. The steak was not as tender or juicy as expected, and although had flavour, was not "amazing" as was expected for the price.
If you want an "amazing" steak everytime, go to Charcoal Grill on the Hill in Kew, or Ian Curly's restaurant The European, they are sure winners every time, and both places have the freshest, juiciest oysters and produce.
This place you are paying for eating in South Yarra, but you're not getting the quality, or love. Very disappointing.

My partner and I had breakfast on Sunday. The coffee was great, silky smooth and at the perfect temperature. The staff were bubbly, efficient and attentive. We had an eggs benedict and a big breakfast. The eggs were soft poached, and beautifully runny inside. I am very particular about how an eggs benedict should be cooked, and I found it above standard. The food was fresh and flavoursome. The atmosphere was warm, rustic and modern. A recommended breakfast venue in a relaxing environment.

A brusque greeting nevertheless resulted in being whisked to the back room, which was host to a group booking of mainly loud woman. This highlighted the poor acoustics of the room as much as the inconsiderate behavior of some co-diners.
Our waitress was very efficient and helped to guide us through the menu and again explained each dish as it arrived.
I loved the antipasto, which was brought to the table in a procession of small, tasty morsels.
My main course was he duo of lamb, which was quite delicious. My partner had the gnocchi with mushroom and truffle paste. It was rich in flavor and by this time the service was really hitting it's straps but the noise of the other party drove us out before we could try the desserts. No fault of the restaurant of course.
Good reliable standard and recommended. 14/20.

We decided to take 2 family members to this restaurant as one of them had never eaten Japanese. We had been there about 2yrs prior and thought it was quite good.
The service was terrible, we asked on numerous occasions for drinks when they arrived and they never did, then we were seated we asked for our wine and they brought out more drinks. We chose the $65 set menu and we thought this was quite expensive for what you got, the barbeque areas were very smokey and it was quite unpleasant.
It is more suited for group who just want to drink and don't care about cuisine, the kitchen staffs follow the same format for cooking and get everyone involved to catch bowls of rice and egg (of which some landed on my chest and burnt me). I would never go back there again, it is just a 'mess house' .....all the best anyway.

Went to Mosq with some friends as I love the whole Moroccan theme after visiting the country a few years ago. Although the decor was gorgeous, that is pretty much where the pleasant experience stopped for us. I love tapas menus but found little to love about this one. The dips were plain awful, the kofte was bland and tasted like it had been made a week ago and the sweet corn fritters tasted like flour with some corn in it.
The cocktails we had were lovely but took a long time to arrive. One of the wait staff was very attentive and friendly, the other was bordering on rude.
Overall it was a fairly average experience and I won't be in any rush to go back.

What a gem! Went to Capriccio after purchasing a scoopon. Our waiter was sooo helpful and great at explaining the menu.
Food was delicious! I had the eye fillet with chips, vegies and pepper gravy and it was to die for! My friend had the Veal Saltimbocca which she loved but was a bit too garlicky!
They had a beautiful looking cake display but instead we opted for garlic and herb bread and salt and pepper squid. Will visit again!

This place is just not Japanese! The sushi was terrible, the rice was stuck together too much and the sushi paper was soggy like they were made the day before and put in the fridge for later use. The tempura was the worst I have ever had! The batter was more like batter of fish and chips.
I would not reccommend this place at all. I have eaten a lot of Japanese food from around the world but I would not feed the food from this place to my dog, it was truly disgusting and made me feel sick and greasy for the rest of the day. Stay away.

I have now been to this well located restaurant twice and, unfortunately, both times I have walked away thinking how rude and cold the wait staff are here. Everything seems to be a chore and if it is any kind of variation to anything on the menu or something a little off centre, forget it. The location is great particularly on a nice hot day but the service is cold and unfriendly.
