Absolutely love The Cowrie. If you have not already been here I highly recommend. It's a lovely small restaurant. Both times I have been there were for dinner so I look forward to going there during the day to take in the magical view.

Enjoyed lunch here yesterday with friends and family. It was my Aunt's birthday and we dined in the private dining room, and the view was lovely, even on a grey rainy day like it was yesterday. The food was excellent, as was the service. I look forward to returning again soon.

We dined at The Cowrie last night, Easter Sunday, just my partner and I, and we were so impressed! We have been wanting to go there for about 3 years now, and we weren't disappointed.
The service was wonderful, we were able to sit out on the Balcony as there were no view tables left and this gesture was very much appreciated, we watched the lighning show over Terrigal and the coast! on the sheltered cosy balcony. We can only imagine what the daytime view is like, we will be returning for lunch sometime. Our waitress last night couldn't do enough for us and was so friendly and attentive, made our night really lovely.
The food was superb. We had the Seafood Platter for two - Yum! Then the cheesecake for dessert which we shared, the flavours were delicious. Thankyou for a memorable, romantic and beautiful evening.

Lovely location - especially during daylight. Food was great - service did not match the food. A couple of warnings...the floor levels varying due to different surfaces... we saw 2 people trip during the evening because of the varying levels. Be sure to check the bill... we were overcharged. They also charge a surcharge per person for at Saturday night ($2.00 per head) probably to get around the new (ish) laws. Just leaves another bitter taste... No won't go back.

Didn't expect to find such a good restaurant in Terrigal. (Having said that, don't know the area well). Food was pretty good, reasonably priced, quite happy with the service as well. Waitress was very attentive. View was amazing from the restaurant, trick is to ask for table near the balcony or outside on the balcony if weather is warm enough.

This restaurant is by far the best food and location we have had!We like dining out, thought we would start reviewing as The Cowrie inspired us to take the time to write about it.
We went for lunch, very freindly waiters, no window tables left so we sat on the balcony, slightly windy but ok as we relized when our food started to arrive that we had the best seat in town, how fresh does seafood get - oysters amazing, sea treasures entree very clever and tasty, Jewfish with a seawater foam and lobster dumplings was fantasy material.
We are visiting from Sydney for weekened and will visit Terrigal more often just sit on the balony and eat beautiful seafood.

Made a last minute booking and lunched at The Cowrie with 3 girlfriends. Took advantage of the Spring Fixed Lunch Menu, 2 courses and a glass of wine for $45. Superb, the food was magnificent and beautifully presented, the wine was decent. The service wasn't brilliant but we were having a nice relaxed lunch so it didn't worry us. Would definitely visit again.

I took my wife here for our wedding anniversary and I was slightly concerned as friends had told me in the past that the restaurant was expensive and the food could be disappointing. But I was pleasantly surprised. I especially appreciated the knowledgeable advice from a french sommelier on which wine would best complement our meal, something which I must say, I didn't expect from a Central Coast restaurant. Overall a very pleasing experience and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

We dined here for my wifes birthday it was to say the least an amazing experience. Someone has transformed this restaurant into gem. We have been here before about a two years ago our experience then was very average as we waited for every thing and the place looked old.
But now the decor is now something special with modern greys and great colourful art works which really works the food is unique and flavoursome, the service world class and the view the position of this restaurant is simply amazing, Terrigal and the Central Coasts best experience for us ever, well done to every one at The Cowrie!
