If this restaurant weren't in rural nsw, it probably wouldn't have been given a SMH hat. I've had pub food just as good and for half the price. Despite many tables being available in the outdoor area, we were seated in the dingy back room - enough to ruin the experience. They also indulge in the outdated practice of charging customers for bread which they've brought out without asking.
We waited a good 15 minutes after asking for the bill twice. Wait staff were already being served their own dinners while we waited for someone to clear our table. When we eventually decided to go to the counter, the front-of-house could barely manage to make eye contact as we paid.
If you're looking for a special night out in jervis bay - head somewhere else instead.

The oysters served were fresh and delicious(even after sending the first half back due to mud on some oysters). The pork loin was almost perfectly cooked. The mushroom risotto with chorizo was also delicious, but they were a little shy of chorizo- there were only 3 pieces. Overall, nice one hatted restaurant in huskkison.

Gorgeous food! we were seated next to a nice toasty fireplace on a relatively chilly winter. Beautiful fresh seafood in thai or modern australian styles makes the dishes on offer quite eclectic but delicious! Great service and great food. Certainly I can see why this is a local favourite and packed!

Overall the food was good. My pork was really succulent. But the desserts were a huge disappointment. I am convinced my lemon custard tart with ice cream was not homemade, that both were bought in, which is unacceptable for these prices. What is also quite bizarre is that they seem to serve toasted almonds with almost everything. We went to the sister restaurant a few nights prior and again toasted almonds were served with both our starters, both main courses and the side dish!
Disappointing and limited wine list, but the service was the biggest let down. Very impersonable. The best the Jervis Bay area has to offer, but we're spoilt in Australia and this didn't really hit the mark.

Great restaurant, amazing food. Didn't expect to find something so great in a seasonal tourist town. A little expensive, but overall it was a great experience.

We have eaten here on at least 20 occasions over the last 5 years. The food, service and ambience have been consistently excellent. Seagrass has never missed a beat. In addition to an extremely fine general menu, the restaurant also boasts one of the best vegetarian menus we have come across. Short, but imaginative and carefully constructed wine list as well. This is clearly the standout restaurant in the region - the best food we have eaten south of Wollongong .... perhaps south of Sydney. And, as opposed to many reviewers, we don't agree with the 'overpriced tag'. Much cheaper than Sydney restaurants offering the same quality, and better location than most! The experience here is worth every cent.

While at the coast I stayed overnight at Huskisson and took the opportunity to dine at the multi-award wining Seagrass Brasserie. All the windows and doors were thrown open to the balmy night air and, though the place was not full, there was that welcoming buzz in the air that one hopes to find in a brasserie but, sadly, seldom does.
With the three waitresses busy, the chef popped out of the open kitchen and showed me to a table. The menu looked enticing and I was particularly attracted, as a sole diner, to the offer of a 5 course tasting menu for $75. Remarkably, this offer allowed me to choose off the menu any one appetiser, two entrees and one main, all served in smaller portions, and have a dessert plate sampling a number of dishes from the menu.
The appetiser chosen was a generously-sized Thai fish ball with a garnish of bean sprouts in a spicy sauce that more delicate palates than mine could easily avoid. The first entrée was a well-cooked, tender calamari dish, rolled in coconut with a chilli sauce and this was followed by deep-fried whitebait which were a little dry for my palate. The Atlantic salmon main was nicely cooked but I regretted not being a little more adventurous and trying the mackerel. The dessert plate consisted of a slice of tart and two well made icecreams.
The service was well timed, friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list included a number of South Coast wines and I chose an unusual blend: the Coolangatta Estate Verdelho Sauvignon Blanc. Children were welcomed (the three waitresses looked like experienced mothers) and well catered for as one would always hope for in a restaurant styling itself as a brasserie. All in all it was a most enjoyable experience and a gastronomic treat.

This is a very fine restaurant on the NSW coast. We have family living in Vincentia and they eat here all the time. When we visited them this weekend, they took us to dinner at this delightful restaurant! It is a very popular local restaurant and was quite busy the night we went. Thank goodness we had a booking. The menu is perfect, it is not bogged down with choices. They seem to have picked the dishes they are best at.
If you are ever here and you are a pork eater, you must try the pork belly dish. The skin is crispy, yet the flesh is so tender and soft. It sits on a bed of vermicelli and carrots. Its a lovely and sweet dish. My partner had this as the mains and I have the Queensland eye fillet steak. Don't get me wrong, the steak was cooked beautifully but I could not help but steal some of my partners pork belly because it was so delicious.
We were a party of 8 people and were given the intimate semi out door (aka back verandah) seating. The staff did not forget us and checked in often to ensure our cups were topped up. What an absolutely delightful restaurant.
