The staff were excellent, it's hard these days to get good service, and the head waitress was great. The food could do with some work to be more authentic, especially the sauces and the high levels of sugar. It's a welcome change for us city dwellers from the pub grub we normally have on holidays.
Overall we enjoyed our night out, the location is great and it was lovely to sit on the boardwalk sipping some cool wine and watch the world go by.

Friendly, attentive staff and nice decorations can't salvage poor Thai cuisine. The food lacks bite and authentic Thai flavours. Some of the dishes are frankly odd. Most of the stir fries simply don't resemble anything you will eat in Thailand. The Pad Thai noodle is particularly disappointing. As the central Thai restaurant in the district Hawng Khrua is a real let down.

Having lived here for years 6 of us decided to go out for tea. It was during the summer school holidays we had booked earlier that day to avoid disappointment and on arrival the place was packed (always a good sign). The staff were very friendly and service was excellent.
We ordered and within 15 minutes our entrees arrived. We had one of every entree except the mixed they were all delicious (to die for) the only thing store bought was the calamari rings but even they were really yummy. Our plates were taken and our mains arrived in 15-20 minutes. We had several stir-fry's and curries. I tried the red chicken curry and the mee grob. Once again the food was wonderful and it all arrived at the same time, no waiting for dishes to arrive.
For dessert I had the banana puffs and would eat them every day if I could.
The overall experience was an eye opener as I never realized how busy and popular this little restaurant was. The staff were excellent all night and deserve a pat on the back.
I will definitely go back again and recommend this restaurant to anyone.

First time to this restaurant and the staff didn't acknowledge us when we were waiting to be seated, our mixed entree starter took 40 minutes to arrive and when it did the chicken satay was completely raw inside, advised the waitress who did nothing about it, the curry puff, calamari ring and spring roll, were obviously deep fried from frozen. Food was bland and did not taste fresh at all, went past the kitchen and there appeared to be 3 twenty something aussie girls cooking, was overpriced for the quality of food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

On a weeks holiday in Huski, decided to visit this Thai Rest. The best thing about the restaurant is the staff. Very friendly and efficient. The food was uninspired. If you want pretty ordinary thai, not overpriced, well this is your place. The food lacked imagination. Shop purchased curry puffs, calamari rings and the Thai curries were bland. I think the kitchen needs a holiday, to Thailand to get reinvigorated!

What a little gem. By far the best Thai I have had in years. A varied menu but not so much that it is overwhelmingly hard to decide. The staff are always happy to give you a couple of suggestions. As a group of 3 we shared the fishcakes with cucumber sauce which was divine and a mixed entree which was also great.
We shared two dishes for mains-red beef curry-not too hot and very fragrant-perfect. The second dish was prawns in a chilli and lemongrass sauce which was so tasty! We couldn't resist dessert and we shared the hot coconut milk with banana-so simple yet delicious! We also tried the banana puffs which were also fabulous!
Overall, a meal with plenty of flavours and variety. Very satisfying and not too filling. The staff were very helpful, service was excellent as was value for money. Congratulations to the owners who have obviously worked hard to bring a little jewel straight from Thailand to the South Coast.

Interesting take on thai food. Packed full of flavour, service is fantastic, beautiful ambience, love it here. Not your generic thai food.

This restaurant is underated. You walk by thinking, oh another Thai restaurant (me being a Sydneysider and having a variety in Sydney itself). But my partner and I decided to give it a go, seeing that there was a crowd (usually a good sign).
This is a Thai-fusion restaurant. The soup (Coconut curry chicken & coriander) has been by far, the Best soup I've ever tasted. The balance of lemon grass, coconut and spiciness is perfectly balanced. Mains are good. (We has Pad Thai and Mixed veggies)
The desserts are Sublime. (We had sticky coconut rice with Thai custard and a lychee & mango panacotta). I'm writing this review 2 days after having this wonderful experience, and I am still having the after taste of the freshly grated coconut used in their dishes. Ingredients are very fresh. Care is taken with cooking methods.
The only downside was probably the ambience - a little too noisy for my liking. But excellent value for money, I'd say. A must try!

I recently dined at Hawng Khrua while escaping Sydney during the APEC weekend. What a magnificent dining experience. Hawng Khrua is as good as any Thai restaurant in Sydney, and is certainly better than most!
Great food, service, ambience and value for money. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Certainly the highlight of the Huskisson dining scene.
