The fact there is a facebook group about never setting foot in Tiger, Tiger again should set off some alarm bells. Alas, I made the mistake of entering the lions den. The senior staff is rude, pretentious and quick tempered, with customers and staff alike. The staff were unhappy looking and the food was terrible. Nothing like the menu described it. Also, no variations meaning there's not alot for people with allergies or vego's.

The coffee was nothing to rave about and the glass of wine was minuscule. Let's not even mention the ridiculous prices. Tiger, Tiger can be compared to Nazi Germany to step into, one wrong move and your given to the firing squad. Not a nice place, stay away or go to the garden next door. That's a beautiful place.

We recently had a brunch at Tiger Tiger, when we walked inside we were promptly and rudely told it was table service only. We found a table outside, another person (unknown to us) sat and shared the table a few minutes later, the waitress proceeded to serve him first. We were handed our menus and told abruptly two of the dishes on the menu were not available, which was a reasonable percentage of the menu as the menu was not extensive.

We asked for a slight variation to the meals, we were told in no uncertain terms that was not possible, the waitress with attitude made it abundantly clear she did not make the rules. When the meal arrived, the sourdough bread looks suspiciously like whole meal. Outside is a smoking area, that combined with the lack of customer service it was not a pleasant experience.

I have been on a few occasions and not once have I received bad service. The staff and Clare are always eager for a nice chat. The coffee is beautiful, the food satisfies and the outdoor courtyard a nice change from the city streets. The live musicians they have on some evenings are good also. I'll be back.

Wow! Did I go to the same place as the other people? I found the service excellent! And I do believe one of the people that served me was the owner! Anyway, all the staff were great and my meal was fresh and delicious. I have worked in the industry before and find it refreshing that they have an idea about what they do and they just go ahead and do it.

I can see that wouldn't be many people's cup of tea though. In my experience, customers just want to come in and have exactly what they want, when they want, how they want. And if you tell them, otherwise, well your not customer-driven. I ramble! Great place, great food, keep at it guys and stick to your guns!

Really terrible service at Tiger Tiger. I think I was served by the same woman as the reviewer below, she is incredibly rude and just ruined the whole experience.
Food was OK, but not worth the price. Go somewhere else.

I recently visited Tiger Tiger, and like the above two reviews was thoroughly disgusted in the service, I believe I was served by the senior staff, a woman who had a penchant for using the word 'yea' at the end of every sentence she said. I walked into the cafe and was promptly told that it was table service there, and then stared at like I was a lunatic for not being a psychic mind reader and not knowing that.

When I finally was served I was told that there were no variations to the menu, after I made a simple request for a side of bread. The food in all fairness turned out to be quite decent. However, my dining experience was ruined by the senior staff yelling at her staff in front of all and sundry, and by the fact that she cleared away my half full glass of champagne when I went to the bathroom. I confronted the senior staff politely about this, and was told by her that 'there wasn't much left in my glass anyway, yea' I responded by telling her I paid $10 for that glass, and she said not to bother coming back.

To all those whose are looking for a nice cafe/bar with friendly professional service, Tiger Tiger is most certainly not the place you want to go. Quite frankly the owner is the biggest liability to her business! Thumbs down to Tiger Tiger.

I have been here on three separate occasions, and it has been the same deal every time. Delicious food and a nice little place to slip away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but the rudest, most inconsiderate staff ever. On my last visit, it was a 40 degree day and I'd walked quite a ways through the city to get there to meet a friend. I went inside to find my friend, and while I was there, went to the counter to get a drink.

I was told it was table service only. I told them I wasn't ordering anything, just getting a drink, and the waitress I was talking to just walked away without replying and completely ignored me until we found a table to sit at. Later on in the visit the senior staff came over because some of us were ready to order, but then refused to take down our orders, or bring over more drinks until we had all decided what to order. This place has the absolute worst service of anywhere I've ever been, avoid it at all costs.

I had a really bad experience here this morning for three reasons:

The menu is poor. Very limited options and they completely refuse to change anything, and are proud to tell you so. I asked if they could do scrambled eggs and bacon, to which the female owner rudely said: “No. We’re not changing anything.” My mate ordered muesli, and later found out that they haven’t had any for over a year. Mind you, this is a chalkboard menu. They’d also run out of muffins, but we only discovered this after we’d ordered, paid and sat down.

The service is poor. I have never copped so much attitude for asking a simple question about the menu. Everything is just too much trouble. I was treated with suspicion and hostility when I asked where I could find a few sugar sachets. Had I ordered a coffee? (Three, actually). What were they? (Cap, latte and mocha). Oh yeah? And where are you sitting? (Right outside, where you just delivered them). She literally threw them over the counter.

The food is poor. When a café tells you that “they don’t change the menu”, I now realise that it is because the dishes are mostly pre-made. Alarm bells also started ringing in my head when the sandwich came out just 2 minutes later. Dry, rubbery, tasteless.

The only good thing going for this joint is the coffees, they are terrific. But do yourself a favour and go around the corner to King St. Any of the cafes there do coffee just as well, and breakfast much better and cheaper. And they do it with full table service, and without the attitude.
