Great place to go for lunch, if you arrive early. Tables fill quickly and it can be very crowded and noisy. Dinner is much quieter, with the exception of Friday night.

Food: sashimi. ok, fresh enough, but not the freshest. You get salmon, tuna, white fish, squid and salad. Sushi, for raw meat varieties, fresh enough, but not the freshest, the salmon caviar one is good though. Udon. range of udons, with tempura, plain chicken, teriyaki chicken. These are good for a cold winter's day. Ramen is only available during dinner. Rice combos. eg. teriyaki chicken/fish/beef/ tofu, katsu chicken/fish, karaage chicken, agedashi tofu, tempura veg/mix. most come with cabbage on the side.

Large serves come with miso soup as well. Condiments, wasabi, soy sauce, soy dressing, mayonnaise dressing, chilli, bbq sauce, chilli powder, is all complimentary. Tea is complimentary. Green tea with roasted rice.

Value: Great value. Overall: A good place to go for a great value Japanese meal.

Well located in the cbd, the other taka is next to the station, exactly the same menu. This is lunctime fare, bento boxes a plenty, just choose the combo, pay and pickup when they buzz you.

The combo meals, normally come with a simple japanese cabbage/lettuce salad with sesame dressing, rice and miso soup. Tea and water is complementary. My favourite are the curry pork or chicken katsu combos. Some simple sushi and stir fry dishes. There are udon and ramen but I dont think they are quite up to the ramen cafes that are popping up now.

Meant as eat and run and can be very busy, heaps of sharing tables but no one cares.
