Good Breakfast at Coogee Beach Cafe. Remember this is a beach cafe not a restaurant, so if you keep that in mind you will enjoy this place. Very casual, but breakfast is very good, coffee is good definitely going to try it for lunch or dinner. New owners or operators in the last couple of months doing a good job.

We live in the neighbourhood, so been regular customers of Mends Street Cafe for 6 years since we moved into this suburb. Had breakfast a lot there. The food was normally good.

But last Thursday (5th April 2012) we took some friends who came from Bangkok to have late lunch around 4pm. We gave high recommendation about this cafe to them, so they wanted to try. The cafe was quiet at that time. When we finished our meal, I had to take my son to the rest room. So our friends helped me packing up our stuff. They forgot to pack my son's water bottle. I realized it after we came home late night.

First thing next morning I called the cafe. The girl who picked up the phone went away for a few minutes checking, came back and said there was nothing like my son's water bottle left in the cafe yesterday. I could not believe it, because that was the last place we went, before we dropped our friends back to their hotel, then headed back home. But, unfortunately, we had to rush catching a ferry to Pinguin Island on that day (Friday, 6th April 2012), so I could not drop by to that cafe.

The next day which was Saturday, 7th April, we went to La Gallete, the cafe next to Mends Street cafe. So I dropped by there and saw Ashley, the barista. When I asked her about my son's water bottle, she straight said, "Yes, I saw that bottle. It looked like pinguin, blue color". But she was really busy at that time. So I told her I'd come back later after having my breakfast. I already got so happy and excited that finally could get that water bottle back, as my son really love it and keep asking about it. Bought it in Indonesia, and could not be found in Australia.

Later on when I came back, Ashley was still busy, but she could sneak out to the kitchen to check. But she got back and told me she could not find it. According to the chef, "If it's not there then it must have been thrown out". And it's only 2 days ago! Besides when I called the day before, the girl who picked up the phone (unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name) said, it was not there. I got so so disappointed.

Not only because it is hard for me to get another one unless I go back to Indonesia, but also because the staff in that cafe were so careless and unreliable. It was so ironic, because we went there with some friends whom we gave high recommendation about the cafe. And it turned out we had this disappointing experience that changed the whole impression about this cafe. And we may never go back there again. That shows how important the service for hospitality business.

Our family has been going to Charisma for years. The food is extremely tasty and well-priced. The only downside is its popularity, we now make sure we get there by 11.30 am for lunch so we can get a table!

Went to Cafe Denada for lunch today, and found it very ordinary to say the least, ordered three salads with flaky pastry square with veges in it, The pastry was barely warm and tasted like a soggy piece of cardboard salads tasted fridgy and the maple vege salad had hard pieces of potato which tasted like they had been cooked a week ago. Coffee was ok cake was nice although had to ask for extra cream, for the price they charge they should at least provide real cream.

Terrible meal 20 minutes to queue. 1 hour 10 then inquired about order. Set fire to fish packet so had to wait even longer, by then chips were luke warm. They forgot potato fritter served 5 minutes later covered in grease and black inside. Fish was dark brown batter and five pieces all stuck together. No real apology from manager when complained, said it was because we had a big order i.e 5 serves of fish and chips plus a few extras. Won't be eating there again. Ordered at 7.05 on Friday night finally got meal at 8.20.

The Steel Tree is the one my family rave about. Unfortunately, as I have found in Western Australia the prices are high and the quality is not. I ordered the Salt and Pepper Squid entree as a main and received a squid salad.

I didn't complain as I just wanted to eat and after the week I just had thought some salad might actually do me good. The squid was cooked perfectly. It was nice and tender and lovely. But the batter had all fallen off and was overly oily, which I didn't like at all.

My partner had the fish and chips which featured cobbler. They were very happy with their meal. Its not somewhere I would return to but its not too bad either.

Great value and fantastic food! very tasty! There is a huge variety and they cater for allergies and have options for gluten free as well.

I always feel welcomed when I go and the staff are wonderful! they always make sure I have enough to drink and if our meals are good (which they always are). they are very professional and the lady at the counter serves us with a smile every time!

The location is very accessible and the ambience of Sebastian's is great! I love the mural that is painted on the wall and the Large Pepper Grinder! it is so awesome!

Lovely to sit, eat and enjoy the beautiful flowers and arbors in the grounds. Nursery ok but sprinklers automatically come on middle of the day so watch out!
Much harder now to wander through the rose beds than a few years ago. New French garden is really beautiful and a great place for a garden wedding. Koi in pond are amazing to watch. Steep incline to cafe with smaller car park at the top for older people.

Beautiful place and the food used to be Ok. But today the food was incredibly awful... Quiche pastry was like rubber. Salad was a bit of lettuce, one tiny piece of tomato and two miniscule pieces of red onion with grated cheese on top and a splash of balsamic. Coffee was luke warm and tasted vile.

Had one of the best decaf cappuccino's at the Mandurah venue. Better than my experience in Melbourne - as they are known for their great coffees. Their cakes and scones were delicious and their service was unbelievably fast. The view was looking out to the ocean and It was overall a wonderful experience. Cannot wait to go out there again for another cake and coffee.

Large selection on menu but not available in the cafe (see photo). 1/2 hour wait for a slice of cake which they had forgotten about. The cake taste fine. Ordered cannelloni, it came out in 15 minutes but was slapped on the plate with sauce dripping down the side. Pretty pricey for quality. Customer service was okay, but the wait for food is still very long. Still ate here as there is pretty much nothing else at the airport downstairs.

How hard can it be to prepare a fresh burger at 2pm on a Sunday afternoon when the cafe is almost empty (that should have sounded a first warning),...? Obviously, even harder than frying some fresh chips that looked like they had been zapped to impotency by the microwave!

In an almost empty restaurant our 'Burger' took 15 minutes or so to arrive, Fair enough, if it was freshly cooked as was indicated by the staff. However, the outside of the patty was lukewarm to say the least and when my delicate taste buds reached the centre they almost died of frostbite from the shock. The inside of this somewhat large beef patty was almost icy, Indicating that it had been defrosted in the micro, but sadly not defrosted enough.

Come on people, Even a mindless person can fry some chips and cook a beef patty!
To add insult to injury when I asked for the remnants to be properly heated (For fear of food poisoning from tepid meat), it came out smoking making the bread roll (which had obviously accompanied my patty into the electronic crematorium) taste like rubber and almost impossible to cut.

It's no wonder they make you pay $15.95 up front for a burger - Try before you pay and they would go broke. Mind you, if they keep up this kind of food quality they will no doubt go broke anyway. With apologies to Chris Isaacs - Burger did a bad bad thing!

What a fantastic little coffee shop located in the heart of Subi. Had breakfast there and not only was the food 5 star, coffee was perfect but the service was fantastic. Know quite a few people that are regulars and have wondered why I hadn't discovered this little gem a long time ago!

The worse Merchant cafe by a long mile. Appalling, rude service and very average food and drinks that takes 20 or more minutes to arrive. Some customers got fed up with waiting and left. Staff more interested in getting customers out, so they can finish work and have a smoke. Not coming back ever again!

I've been going to Cranked on and off for a couple years now for brekky, lunch and coffee. The food has rarely disappointed me and most often delighted me. The menu changes every few months to new and interesting combinations. The final dish can vary a bit according to the chef on duty at the time, but always fresh and tasty. I wish they'd bring back the best salt and pepper squid ever.

The prices are very reasonable compared to other Perth bistros that seem to think a mining boom is an excuse for theft. Cranked is a pleasant surprise in that regard. The coffee is very good, though (very) occasionally has to be sent back to be rewarmed. This is not uncommon for cafes in Perth. The staff are really excellent, the best in the Leederville area of cafes. If I have one criticism it's that the music is always too loud and screechy for an intimate conversation, which can let down what would otherwise be a perfect experience.

Being situated close to a public car park is also a plus. I often recommend people try Cranked if they haven't already. In fact I'm taking a friend from Sydney there in a couple of days.
