There is traditional Italian food and there is bland Italian food. This restaurant serves the latter. We booked a table on the recommendation of the Good Food Guide and were very disappointed. Anti pasta was OK. Mains of Pork Belly and Goat were both a little dry. We were interested in dessert but were amazed that there were no dessert wines the glass to accompany the dish. We were a table of two and didn't want a half bottle so we decided not to order dessert or coffee but asked for the bill. It took 20 minutes and the threat of leaving before we were promised the bill - it took some time after that to appear. wine was good but part from that would not go back again and consider it $180 badly spent.

My boyfriend recently took me here for my birthday as it had been recommended to him by work colleagues. Had I read the reviews before I would have been a bit anxious but the service was great and I have since found out Maurizio was nominated as the 2010 Maitre D' by Gourmet Traveller magazine so, perhaps, things have improved!

Started with lovely antipasti, then had the homemade chitarrini pasta with tomato sugo and parmesan. Simple but really tasty. I also stole a few mouthfuls of my boyfriends asparagus, champagne and parmesan risotto, yum! Our waiter recommended the specialty, roasted baby goat in garlic and herbs. Tender and delicious and well matched with the sangiovese. Also shared a lovely light summer dessert of roasted peach with biscotti and pistachio icecream.

Feels like you are in Italy, lovely atmosphere. Perfect for the romantic evening we were looking for.

Like the previous reviewer, the worst food I have paid for in a long, long time. The goat was all bones with a bit of dried out meat. Way too expensive, the wine list especially is ridiculously over priced. It took them 15 minutes to get my bill after my request and then another 15 minutes to process my credit card. And this was mid week Business lunch! The senior staff needs to spend more time sampling the food than wandering around the restaurant shaking hands and seeking praise. I would never, ever eat here again.

Without doubt the worst meal I have paid for. The shanks were completely dry (ie black, dehydrated and tasteless. Like they had been in the oven for 2 hours too long). When we were asked 'how are your meals' I said the shanks were 'not good' and started to say more but the waiter turned away and did not come back again. Indeed we hardly saw a wait person after ordering and before the bill. I went as a family member had recommended. Perhaps, the kitchen staff had issues that night.
