My wife and I went to the Market City Tavern on Friday night for the half price seafood platter after seeing it advertised on tv. We were very pleasantly surprised! We were expecting an over-sized seafood basket for the price ($39), however, they serve the real deal, a full platter with fresh prawns, scallops, calamari, salmon, battered fish, chips and condiments.

The best value meal we've had since moving to Perth by far. The service was ok, no better or worse than anywhere else we've been, and there was a band playing in the next room, so we stayed for a couple more drinks after the meal. Great night out, we'll definitely be back.

Would not go back there again! Asked for Kilkenny was given a warm watered down version? I questioned the staff they said it always looked that way and as for being warm no mention of refund other than to say they had trouble with that line? Next I tried a Hanns 3.5 again its like they water their beer? And in warm glasses! As for the meal "chicken parma" everything is deep fried and to the edge of burnt? The home made chips if you can call them that? Half cooked! Watched meals as well as ours own all the same, and as for the salad bar absolutely no thought has gone into it, very plain.

Shocking - don't go there! Had Sunday Roast Lunch Special. Only had pork which no one ate, potatoes in jackets were rock hard, couldn't eat them same with cauliflower cheese, rock hard with a dribble of sauce on top. Ordered tea and coffee, tea was a cold cup filled to half with supposedly hot water and a tea bag on the side - $4.00! Coffee was cold, same price. Family birthday gathering ruined!
