We went to Jackson's last night for my birthday, and it was truly memorable. The setting is beautiful (and we had a lovely tucked away table), you don't need to shout in order to be understood, and the wait staff is superb. We ordered the degustation with wines and had a wonderful time. Memorable dishes included the pork belly (dreamy!), the venison, the duck with licorice and orange, and the beetroot marinated salmon was so good we could have eaten 10 plates.

The many surprise courses were a fun treat, and we left absolutely stuffed. I only had issue with two small items: the stilton pear tart would have been better served with port instead of ice-cold Spanish sherry, and the pasito served with the mango dessert was sickeningly sweet and I couldn't drink it. Those two small things aside, we cannot wait to return to Jackson's!

Rather disappointing overall for us. The degustation menu had one dish that was superb. Of the remainder there were at least two that were bland and the flavours of the core ingredients were overtaken by the experimental elements. One dish was unpleasant. Not a restaurant I would recommend to others unless they enjoy "guinea pig" status.

I'd second the "best restaurant in Perth" tag. Have eaten here about twice a year for the past 2-3 years, and always found the service prompt and friendly, the menu interesting and the flavour combinations delicious. All their competitors would do well to have a meal here and see how it's done properly.

This is probably the best restaurant in Perth, very French and very chic. The degustation menu is the best way to sample Neal's craft, the roast duck with orange grand marnier was the best I have tasted, pork belly with choriszo, scallops and saffron peas was a interesting combination. There are many palette cleansers in between the dishes, just sit back and let the wait staff describe and assist you with the dishes. Wait staff is very attentive and friendly.

Wine list extensive, french champagne as well. If you can handle the alcohol then take the degustaion with the matching wines. Save this one for a special occasion.
