Amazing Amazing Amazing! The best food that has ever passed my lips. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to eat there although the food is absolutely divine and totally worth it. Exceptional service too - fast, helpful, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.

Love the new-ness of this restaurant, it is just so urban and the decor is fab.
Its izakaya, so just sample each dish and keep on ordering. A little expensive for some of the dishes but the food is high quality. All the new style favourites are here, beef tataki and sashimi carpaccio. Love the all so simple to make foiled baked salmon, fried cheese with blueberry sauce and the grilled duck and eggplant.

Presentation of the dishes are very beautiful and on some very nice japanese crockery, even the tea pot is a work of art. Have to come back one day for the bento boxes. Great sake and sochu selection, the biggest I have ever seen in Aus, just got to becareful as I guess everyone would have to drive to this place. It's on the entertainment card, so that makes it a better bargain.

Very helpful and efficient staff, may seem cold but has a hearty atmosphere. Worth the drive out.

Excellent! If only I could get them to open a restaurant here in Sydney! Standard Japanese favourites, as well as numerous modern variations, all of which work splendidly.

Update, 27.8.10 - the above review was written back in August 2008, and nothing has changed. Ha-lu continues to be extraordinary. It's now about 3 years since I first ate here, I do so almost every time I'm in Perth and the food and service is always remarkably good. Very fresh creative flavours and ideas. Don't change, please!
