We had a group booking for 20-plus (two tables) and as organiser I checked my urbanspoon bible to read: 90% approval! Wow. It's now gone up to 91% and I too added a 'Like' on behalf of our diners. The kitchen managed to get all meals out so that no one suffered the empty-plate-torture.

Eye-candy presentation, quality not quantity, and resounding approval for the complete range of menu choices. Acoustics were fabulous - we savoured the complementary conversation, no competition from AFL cheersquad sound effects! We then adjourned to the ambient beer garden to bask in the great outdoors without sizzling like a barbeque sausage.

I also bought Scoopon. Fabulous value. Lovely place, Nigel was great (some restaurants treat coupon holders with disdain and dont realise we won't come back if they have 'attitude'). The steak/wine was really good and so was desert. Could not finish all. Will def. go back

I was very disappointed in the food. We went with some regulars who recommended it highly. They were embarrassed to discover that several of the meals were cold and not up to standard. I ordered the duck, which arrived lukewarm, tough and lacking in flavour. I was surprised when my request for a steak knife because my meal was "tough" was not met with further investigation by the waitress/management until other diners remarked that their food was cold. The "regulars" were offered a bottle of wine to make up for the meals. However, it was the other guests that had the awful meals, so I don't look upon that as making up for the mistake at all. Most disappointing meal I have had in years.

My wife and I bought one of the (extremely generous) Scoopon vouchers that gave us a 500 gm rib eye steak each, plus a bottle of wine to share. We've been a little wary of these vouchers after some negative experiences in the past, but this occasion couldn't have been more different. Firstly, the staff at the Yorkshire are just excellent. So friendly and willing to help! I'd almost forgotten what good service was supposed to be, but the Yorkshire has renewed my faith.

The owners (I assume) were more than happy to accept the Scoopon and seemed to genuinely understand that if you offer good food and good service, then word of mouth will bring you business. Hallelujah!

Anyway, the steak was fantastic, the wine delicious and the ambience great. They've gotten themselves a new customer out of this experience, and we'll be taking my wifes parents along the next chance we get.

Have been to the Yorkshire four times in about the last 6 months. It's been great each time and last week we took along some friends to show them, too. We had a terrific night of wining and dining. The Yorkshire offers a menu that changes regularly with something for everyone. Last week our party enjoyed steak (with a pepper sauce), prawn linguini and a pork dish I can't remember the name off but which was polished off in no time. Oh and we started with olves, oysters and an olive bread. Absolutely no complaints. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Exactly what you want. Looking forward to the next time.

I have dined here 6 times over the last 12 months and each meal has been superb, the steak is to die for! Desserts are always first class, the complimentary soup cup before the main course is served is also fantastic and such a nice touch. Service is excellent and knowledgeable. The dining room also has a great atmosphere, comfortable and relaxed. Highly recommended for both intimate dining and for groups.

Since finding the Yorkshire through an online voucher deal I've been back many times and wish I had gotten more vouchers. The food is always good and value for your money, service is attentive and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The complementary cup of soup is a nice touch which I always look forward to as it is always very tasty and not your run of the mill free soup. Definitely a place you should give a go.

I was really surprised when I first came to the venue. Some friends told me about it and said they loved the food so I went along. The ambience is welcoming and quite charming and the staff were very attentive without being obstrusive.

The food was excellent and very good value. I asked the owner, Nigel, what wine would he recommend for my fillet and he said try the Kidman Estate shiraz. It was a perfect match for the steak. Both the meal and the wine were first class and very reasonably priced.

Before the meal there was a taster of spicy pumpkin soup which was superb without burning your gullet. The meal was faultless and I have been back 4 times. It is great to find a hotel with attentive staff together with a good knowledge of wine and not pay the earth. I have nothing but praise for the venue.

This venue has a superb, seasonal changing menu, friendly and welcoming staff, and the elegant and understated makeover (which comes complete with gas fire in the restaurant for those cold winter nights) is highly recommended. The emphasis is on quality food, presented well but without fuss. Flavours are well matched, and complimented by an extensive wine list. If you haven't been yet, make sure it's on your list to try!

Been here twice since the 2 new guys have taken ownership, they are great publicans, with witty tales, top beer and excellent meals, how pubs used to and should still be. I will be back even though I live over Essendon way.
