Went there last night with table of 16 last minute booking manager was really polite and very accommodating being cold and miserable winter night. He gave us a nice table by the fire place and was really attentive all night. Staff were polite, quick, food was great, highly recommend to anyone. The manager gave me his number said anytime sir that's what we are hereto give people an experience. Just shows people still love hospitality and are passionate about it still. Bravo

Recently had a birthday celebration at Waterfront. A group of 7 with three hour parking out front. Ordered mains and dessert, received our dessert 15 minutes before our parking expired. Yes 2 1/2 hour for main and clean up. Our poor server was run off his feet with quite a large area to service, they seriously need to employ more staff.
Food was delicious but waiting for dessert and our coffees caused a great deal of stress, worrying about that parking ticket. Employ more staff guys!

My husband and I were taken to lunch here on Sunday, it's a beautifully positioned restaurant. Great fit-out/styling. I had the scallops for entree and mussels for main which were great, although scallops were cold and mussels were quite spicey hot.
The only thing I could complain about was the attention from the waiters, we were there for almost 3 hours and not once did one come to check if we needed anything or if everything was ok.

Went to lunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Fantastic position, make sure you get a table with view of water. Service was great with plenty of staff available. The food was well presented and well worth thr price. Good beer and wine list. Left very content and happy. Recommend to anyone, young or old, but don't rush it, take your time and enjoy.

Four of us went for a Sunday lunch. Friendly greeting then seating us at large table for 4 with comfy chairs overlooking water. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Meals arrived quite quickly but with a decent interval. Everybody loved their meals. Pork belly and scallop entree X2 and Calamari with chilli dressing entree X2. King George Whiting, Swordfish, Salmon and Prawns followed in the mains. Very pleasing although my prawns were not off they were not fresh.
Pulling off the heads they were quite soggy and difficult to devein. (7 prawns for $49 a bit steep). Greek salad another $11 or $12 but with no additional plate to eat off. Desserts were presented beautifully and very tasty. There were no diners inside and I recommend if you do go to book the outer area (covered in behind glass).
It is quite roomy, diners are not on top of each other, and you can easily hear the conversation on your own table without over-hearing other tables. We had a lovely day and were not rushed at all, staying till 4 pm.

Booked a table for 7 for Sunday lunch on the 3/9. After reading some reviews I was not sure so decided to go dine with my partner Thursday 30/9/10 at 8 pm, not a busy time.
Started with the assorted sushi at $19.90 the platter arrived with six very small pieces consisting of 2 california roll slices, and 4 pieces of raw sushi. The raw fish slices on the sushi was warm obviously not kept at the correct temperature, it tasted stale and dry.
Our mains were whole Snapper grilled as well as whole Flounder in paprika dressing. The snapper was full of scales it had not been cleaned properly. The flounder you could not taste as it was smothered in dry, gritty paprika.
We ordered the roasted baby beetroot salad with our mains, however, it did not arrive till we asked for it at the end of our meal. No salad bowls or clean cutlery was provided. We ate it out of the serving bowl it was in. The beetroot was not baby beetroot but big cubes cut from a large beetroot, there was broken cinnamon sticks in it, and the whole salad sat in a pool of vinegar.
Upon paying our $120 bill we strongly expressed our disappointment to the senior staff and cancelled our booking for 7 on Sunday. He showed no goodwill except the mandatory "sorry" and telling us he would take our complaint to the next staff meeting.
In our opinion it is an over priced, over hyped and marketed establishment that takes no pride in the food they deliver. As for customer service they do not give a toss. They just want your money.

I was here as part of a large group. It was a fixed menu. Unfortunately, I got a gnocchi entree that was extremely heavy, starchy and bland, I think it had lamb in it, hard to tell. The seafood entree looked better. I then had salmon but it was nothing special. Others had steak.
The servings were huge and a lot didn't finish. Some said the steak was tough. I didn't try dessert but someone said they were the best part. Probably right. As a visitor to Melbourne it was hard to find at night as it is tucked away behind another restaurant but it is a nice location on the water.

We went here for a Special Occasion. We had an excellent table right by the Pier with Magic Views. The service we had was excellent. The food was tasty but a lack of it. Chargrilled Rock Lobster was very Small $69.00, the Prawns were delicious but only got 5 of them on the plate with some Garlic sauce and rice. The Baby Beetroot Salad with Fetta, Walnut and Watercess was disappointing, 3 slices for $16.90. Great ambience but disappointing.

Having just given another go at the Waterfront, I can now say that I will not go there again. The bean shoots were off, brown, pungent and tasting like raw fish. Same with the lettuce. When I complained, the seior staff tried to explain that it's not really rotten, it just tastes and looks like it. But really, it has not gone off. (?!)
With the prices they charge, one would expect to see fresh veggies on the table. Now I just have to wait to see if the seafood is gonna give me food poisoning, because with that one, it's not as apparent as it is with veggies. If they can't keep their greens fresh, what about the meat? Makes me cringe.
