Overview of Warung Gudeg

Established in April 2006, Warung Gudeg is the first Indonesian Restaurant in Melbourne who specialises in GUDEG, a famous traditional Indonesian dish from Jogjakarta, Central Java.

Our special selection of secret ingredients have proven to create the best GUDEG in town, guaranteed to have you coming back for more! But GUDEG is not our only speciality dish, we also provide other quality recipes at affordable prices to dine in or take away. We highly recommend our other dishes such as Lontong Cap Gomeh, Lontong Sate Ayam and Ayam Goreng Kalasan, with our special home-made sambal.

We are able to maintain our quality by keeping away from the "easy-to-cook" instant packaged seasoning that is found at your local supermarket shelves. Our original family recipes are founded on years of experience, expressing our true passion for the art of Indonesian traditional cooking.

    It serves a good authentic Indonesian food for a cheap price. But you only get what you paid for. Sniff before you eat! A friend experience: one of the dish is off, and she reported it to the restaurant manager, she only got a quarter of her money back.

    Definitely one of the better Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne.
    The place feels more like a canteen than a restaurant but nevertheless the food is authentic and the taste is excellent. Good value for money as well.
