Overview of Wabi Sabi Garden

At Wabi Sabi Garden, we create authentic and fusion Japanese cuisine. Just as you would find in Tokyo, Japan. Wabi Sabi's chefs are all Japanese. Trained by professional Japanese chefs. All of dishes are home made and we use the best fresh fish daily from the markets. We recommend that you order a few dishes to share, it’s the Japanese way. This way, you will have a more balanced meal. And most importantly, it’s more fun. We hope that you enjoy your experience at Wabi Sabi Garden.

We loved the quaint take on traditional Japanese food. A massive lantern-filled tree adorning the centre of the dining area added to the young and chic atmosphere. Things to note included the interesting plates they used as well as a brief moment to take in a breath of fresh air in the mini-garden.

The waitresses were exceedingly helpful yet non-intrusive and the food was superb. The Black Cod and Lightly Seared Scallops are a must try. Good value for money, will revisit.

My wife and I have been to Wabi Sabi several times and have always left very happy with the food and service. The freshness of the seafood cannot be beaten. The tuna sashimi salad and poached tuna are favourites. My only negative comment would be the seating arrangement. On our last visit our table was almost touching the one next to us, I felt like I was on a double date with the other couple.

A very good Japanese restaurant, with great good, good service and a warm and spacious ambience. We spent a lot of money about $85 per head, but wine list is ok and not overpriced, place is really worth a visit, and we will return. No longer BYO.

Have been to Wabi Sabi Garden three times and enjoyed it very much on each occasion. Easy parking and pleasant ambience make a good start to meals there. Customers are cordially welcomed, the food comes in generous serves and the friendly Japanese staff carefully describe each dish. I agree that the wagyu meatballs and black cod are exceptional, so too is the broadbill tuna. The tasting menu is excellent value for money.

The wagyu was amazing. Service outstanding and the environment was beautiful and warm. This is a little gem of a restaurant. I had no trouble getting a table on a weeknight (at least for the moment) and from the second we arrived the people were fantastic. Try the Black Cod.

Excellent refined modern Japanese cuisine! Food you must normally go to Tokyo to experience. I was impressed with the innovative variety on the menu. The wagyu beef sashimi was by far the best wagyu I've ever experienced...now you know what all the fuss is about! The oysters were perfectly seasoned and the trout 3 ways was simply heaven!

Go with 3 or more for the best experience so you can try several dishes, but no reason why a couple can't enjoy a lovely meal as well. The wait staff are all Japanese, cute and charming.

It is the best Japanese restaurant that I have ever been to in Melbourne. The taste is clean and authentic Japanese. All staff came from Japan, everything is well done. I felt I was in Japan. They also have a bar upstairs.
