Very Nice food, fast service and its worth trying it and it won't waste you time if you try it. The best Vietnamese food you could ever try it. My 1 top Vietnamese restaurant is 'Viet Star'. Even through inside is pretty small with lots of table and noisy. You should go there and have a try its worth it and very cheap price!

Value for money for the foods. Been going to eat there many times. Good value, good food, acceptable service based on value. Very quick service. Good noodle soups, prawn spring rolls and the broken rice. Fresh food is plus plus. You won't regret eating Vietnamese food here. Additional, easy parking around the restaurant area as well. Highly recommend!

Small open area with heaps of tables. Food is good for value but thats about it. Very crowded on busy days, no way to get a table. Loud and not very enjoyable. Worst thing about this is the service, our bowls, drinks were nearly thrown at us, staff look like they don't care less that you're eating at the place. Would advise as a quick lunch place rather than a dine out with the family. Its worth trying.

Viet Star is very famous among locals because of relatively good food and cheap prices. There are a lot of lunch specials for $10 or less. Considering this price range there is not much to complain about, especially in terms of quality. The place is usually so crowded that it is not easy to get a table at busy hours. It is worth trying anyway but for me that one time was enough.

I love it! Great food that doesn't leave you feeling greasy like chinese food. Best part is it comes so quick, always freshly cooked, tastes great and is really cheap! Awesome little gem of a restaurant.

It's so good restaurant I had ever come. The food is very good and service as well. I go there every week. One of famous restaurant in Hawthorn, cheap price, good quality.

This place always seems to be packed but I don't quite get it. Food is very average, often greasy. Service is average certainly not friendly. Wouldn't recommend.

I used to be a regular here, but it has gone downhill fast. After giving them another chance recently, I was served off prawns in hard rice paper rolls. Now looking for a new Vietnamese place.

I've been numerous times and until recently had never been disappointed with the food. Good for a quick cheap and tasty meal, however, the quality of the food at Viet Star has gone downhill. The service and value still good, and this place is still very popular.

The rice paper rolls were dry, and the spring rolls greasy and flavourless. The meat wasn't very good quality, it was quite fatty and all the dishes had a bit of a greasy taste and texture, it left a bad taste in our mouths.
