Overview of Vicolo Cafe & Risotto Bar

Vicolo is a hidden gem in Moonee Ponds. Starters such as Salt and Pepper Calamari, Anti pasto and Melanzani Chips are popular to share, and with over 20 types of risotto on the menu why limit yourself to just one. Owner and Chef, Maria, is busy in the kitchen most days to ensure the highest quality experience, and it is a true family affair with her Mother and other family members pitching it to create a traditional flavour to the menu, including special such as Baccala, braised goat, rabbit and home made gnocchi. Home made desserts like Tiramisu, Baked Cheese Cake and Tarts are only three possible selections from a menu of over seven.

Vicolo is Coeliac friendly, and is the only restaurant in the Moonee Ponds area to be listed on the Coeliac Society web site. Risottos and rice pastas are available as well as Gluten free bread. We have a fantastic lunch time special that includes a risotto and a glass of wine for only $12.00 so come and try a true risotto experience.

Was recommended to go to Vicolo by a friend, I must say its a nice little restaurant, however, the food was extremely over priced with the amount of food on my plate. I had the sausage risotto, very plain and lacked of favour. Not much ingredients, also had dessert and left still hungry. Don't think I'll return, service was poor.

I love the risotto at Vicolo. I never use to like risotto until I had it from here and it is the only place that I order it. I particularly like the sausage, the ragu and the prawn. Really rich and full of flavour. Staff are always really great, even when the place is full.
