Went on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Food was very good (dips, chicken, Tsindos special, baklava). Resto was full all the time but our waiter did a great job and we were served promptly. Wine by the glass was Ok, tho' they'd run out of Australian Chardonnay, Retsina was Ok as a once-off. Our experience of Thurs and Fri nights suggests booking is advantageous. Japanese place across the street (Meshiya) is also good, and better value.

Walking around the Greek precinct I was afraid of the Stalegmites (or whatever it's called on the corner with the laminated menus...).

This place looks just dodgy enough to be good, and true enough it's a bit like eating at your Greek friend's house. There is more atmosphere downstairs than up, which is styled almost completely differently.

There isn't any real polish to the food but its tasty and fresh and has real flavour. I would definitely go back.

The menu on the window states that Tuesday is the night for their speciality - slow-baked lamb - but by 6:45pm last Tuesday they had run out of the slow baked lamb and had no bread left. The food was being served from a bain-marie and looked and tasted like it had been there for quite some time. The owner, a large Greek woman, just sits in the back and watches who comes through the door with a surly look on her face. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience, never to be repeated in Melbourne's so-called 'Greek Precinct'.

This place is beyond a joke. The website talks a big game but once you get to the front sliding door there is an immediate rush of sadness. I ordered their betroot salad and asked for 1 x chicken breast to be grilled to go with it. Betroot salad $10 Chicken $20. It was maybe one and a half breasts but the owner or the greek troll sitting at the back of her shop shovelling some small animal into her mouth whilst trying to tell me that she charged me less than a souvalaki. So I can go to coles and get approx 12 chicken breasts and do it better myself or go there and meet the wicked witch of Londsdale street and let her take me to the cleaners again. Never go there! Its been 30 mins since my chicken and im already feeling like doing some patchwork. Summary: Food - Crap at best Price - You kidding me? Atmosphere- Depressing Value - Guess.

I've been in Melbourne for a few years now and have been to many Greek restaurants. The food is awesome and the service is great! It reminds me of a good home cooked meal and at a very good price. I will be back for more!

We had read mixed reviews about this place before going, so were a bit worried that we would be disappointed. We were far from disappointed! We loved the ambience, the food and the service at Tsindos. It was just like being at a Greek family's home, the food was delicious and full of flavour. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back when we are in Melbourne next!

Really enjoyed our experience here, the food was great, plenty enough for two people, the service was fast and very friendly and the food not too pricey. Would definitely recommend to friends/family.

Probably the worst Greek food we have eaten. A disgrace to Melbourne's status as the second largest Greek community in the world. The poor quality food was not even served hot. We could only conclude that the apparent popularity of this restaurant results from the scarcity of other Greek restaurants in the Greek quarter.

The food was great, had a really friendly, warm atmosphere and the service was fantastic. All in all a very satisfying dining experience! I would highly recommend eating here.

We 100 for a platter of meat for 4, however, this did not happen. We got 4 small lamb cutlets, 2 sausages cut in half and a small amount of meat. The service was not good at all, we had to ask to order drinks and meals.
