Trunk is kind of hidden away in the shadows of the tall buildings. It’s a decent Friday afterwork drinks venue. It still has that corporate crowd vibe to it but without the suits. To give you an idea of the crowd by making a huge assumption, it’s probably because Telstra’s main headquarters towers over it and Telstra has casual clothes days on Friday. But you get what I mean.

Nice provincial food but pricey. Great for drinks.

Came for Valentines day, had to wait 15mins for a drink at the bar, with only three customers waiting there and two bar staff on. Moreton Bay Bugs we're flavourless, and could have been heavily dressed tofu. Whiting was completely overcooked and rubbery, a huge sin. Service was ridiculously slow, we waited about 15mins to get drinks taken and our orders in for a set menu where the vegetarian option was gnocchi and tomato sauce. Considering asking for my money back.

Came here with a group of friends on a friday night. Wasn't expecting a quiet crowd, but at least a decent table considering we have made a reservation in advance. After elbowing our way through crowd, and stood around for ~5 minutes before a waitress come and greet us, we were given a table at the bar area despite our reservation! It was noisy, and customers from the bar disrespectfully keep putting their empty beer glasses on our table.
I had to wait for 10 minutes before my latte was served, and it wasn't even warm. We requested to be seated at a different table, and finally an hour later we were ushered to a quieter area.
Food was very average. Nothing spectacular. Service wasn't immaculate (they didn't give me a spoon with the soup I ordered), and wine list wasn't impressive at all. Overpriced and very pretentious. Never going back there again.

We've had a 18th birthday function here, had to pay $2,000 for food and drinks and they wanted to charge a cakeage fee of $4 on top that was not mentioned in the 3 months prior to the function. They agreed to provide a microphone and amplifier for extra $150 only to cancel at 11 am Saturday on the morning of the event.
Needless to say that took considerable effort to secure these at hours notice on saturday. Not a problem you want to deal with on the birthday. We ordered pizzas adn antipastos for $700, on the day we were told its going to be only pizzas and at the night they brought out 15 medium size pizzas. Thats all - for $700! the pizzas were delicious but we could not chose, had to eat what we were given. The tab accidentally went over so we had to pay another $230 on top.
Dealings with the senior staff was less then pleasant while trying to organise the event, she was trying to push us to order more and more food, insisted on the cakeage charge that she mentioned only at the last minute when there was no time to find another venue and send out new invites, and did not provide the mike etc that she promised. Was the most stressful function I ever organised.

Simple food done pretty well. Don't come here expecting a quiet intimate meal, the place is big, busy and loud. I didn't really like the look or feel of the restaurant but I can see that many would enjoy its' quirkiness. Food is Italian inspired, lots of pastas, risottos and pizza. Everything our table ordered was fine. Service was pretty good and the wine list is reasonable.

Having just come down from Sydney for the weekend I had heard alot about trunk. We had a thursday night booking and the place was busy when we got there. I wish there was a place like this in Sydney! Food was simple but very good Italian food and the service was fast and relaxed.
The bartender made us some cracking cocktails which we all inhaled quickly and then chose a good pinot grigio that was pretty cheap (refreshing!). Anyway, we ended up outside until closing as it was a warm night and they have a massive outdoor area. Highly recommended.

Refitted warehouse look. Not busy when we arrived and ordered just after 12. Slow service for lunch led to a parking ticket!
Spaghettini with eel was too oily. A small serve with little "pangrattato". My colleagues "lamb arbacchio" was too dry, not a proper "wet roast". Water topped up frequently, with attentive drinks service. The chianti by the glass (which I have had before and enjoyed) was oxidised ? old bottle.
Returned for dinner with my young son. Service no better, will long delays in food service resulting in one dish (veal lasagna special) cold (it would have been fine if warm), lukewarm chips, and a superb pork cutlet. "Budino" turned out to be a moist chocolate and nut slice.
Not particularly busy, but noisy nonetheless, with hard surfaces and music too loud. Personally, I can see no reason I should have to dine at a side table, when half the dining room has unused set tables. Not recommended.

Beautiful heritage building, nice interiors, service was excellent. Booked for 4, had 6 turn up but they happily moved tables around to accommodate us all. Felt the meals were on the small side (had the parpadelle which was average tasting as well). Would like to try the bar side next time and order the pizza (which you don't seem to be able to order in the dining room side).

Made booking during the day on a Tuesday and stipulated we had theatre tickets. The lady advised this was no problem and they would have us out by 7:20 (for a 6 pm booking). Were seated by a flustered and useless waiter. There was an equally useless waitress also working and the two kept fighting with each other.
Ordered drinks before we were seated. My coke took 10 minutes to arrive. We ordered as soon as we had our drinks (lets say 6:15). At 5 minutes to we received our bruschetta (burnt toast) and a 5 minutes past and advised thesenior staff that if we didn’t receive our meal in 5 minutes we would walk out.
Meals arrived at 7:10 leaving us 10 minutes to eat dinner and pay the bill.
In summary, service was terrible. Now to the food.
Spaghetti with eel was dry and flavourless, parperadelle was edible but not special in the least and the quail was nice but very small. The penne was shocking.
Venue is great but should stick to bar meals and not try anything too difficult (not that pasta is). They should stick to pizza's and little more.
Offered a 10% discount for crappiness. Too little too late.
Won’t be back to Trunk again.
