    2.5 Not Recommended

We booked here for a birthday and took a banquet. Not only overpriced, but the food was very average, took an extremely long time to be serviced and the dishes were not served according to the menu. A dish was swapped out and the waitress said due to their long wait and mistake, that it would be a complimentary dish, however did not serve a second dish as promised. Overall, a very bad experience. I certainly would not recommend here for a function as large as 20 people at $900. Beware of bad service and rude wait staff.

I've lived in the area for a long time, but had yet to give this place a shot, so I decided to try it for dinner. The food was excellent and well presented, and the service was not bad. Staff were polite, although their english could use some improvement. Food was slightly slow in coming out, but after asking for it to be quicker it came out fine. Overall a good night, will be back!

We had to wait 1 1/2 hours for our food to arrive. Seems like each meal was cooked individually. By the time the last person got their meal the first person had finished quite some time before. The food was very good. Service appalling. We were not offered drinks apart from wine. The restaurant was not busy, an indication of their poor service perhaps. Don't go here unless you want to wait for your meal.

We went to Treasure Restaurant at Forest Hill for dinner tonight. We ordered calamari and scallop dishes. All were average. The most disappointing dish was the claypot chicken with wallnut. All we get from that dish was skin on bony chicken wings with wallnuts. We will never go back again !

The place appeared clean and surprisingly not crowded for a weekend night. On the night we dined the room was barely half-occupied, which was great for conversation. Typically when dining in a Chinese restaurant the chatter of all the diners combined would be a constant buzzing in your ears and quite loud enough so you'd have to shout to be heard and lean closer over the food on your table to be able to hear the other person.

Two other aspects common in most Chinese restaurants I've been to are that the air-con would be turned up uncomfortably high and the staff would either be snappy or rushed or both. While the Treasure Restaurant's air-con was a little on the chilly side, the staff were all polite and attentive. More than half the tables were unoccupied, so we had no trouble conducting an audible conversation. The sweet and sour scallops in batter and lap chung fried rice were delicious! I'm looking forward to trying their Yum Cha lunch in the near future.

Visited the Treasure with locals who acknowledge it's not the best, and use it as a semi-regular haunt because it's never booked out. Enjoyed a crab dish not on the menu, lobster and tasty roast pigeon. Looked to be understaffed and service was slow (public holiday), with dishes going to the wrong table on 2 occasions. Also noticed another waiter making an obvious mess of a Peking duck pancake. Overall, a reasonable night out.

Went for Sunday yum cha and experienced very slow service even though the place wasn't all that full. Selection of food seems limited compared to other places. Worst was the service. Our teapots had emptied and despite multiple requests to numerous waiters for them to be refilled, it never happened. Very very disappointing. No apologies either from the staff when it was mentioned. Won't be going again.

4 out of the 5 times we've been something has gone wrong, from either the waiter forgetting our tea selection for yum cha to overcharging on bills (thrice). Generally food is great and good value, however, once we encountered what seemed like left over shark fin dumplings. Pity about the service staff are friendly, advice pay attention to bill when paying.

Myself and work colleagues have lunch here on a regular basis. We have tried a number of other Yum Cha restaurants in the area but have found The Treasure to be the most consistent in terms of cleanliness, freshness of the food and the quality of service.

Although not on first name basis with the staff, they recognise us and we are always greeted by a smile. The interior is bright and spacious even though this is smaller in size than similar restaurants in the area. I have not found The Treasure to be dirty like some other reviewers suggested. The food is always of excellent quality.

If you book in for Yum Cha on a Friday you have the chance of spotting the cast of neighbours who's studio is around the corner, as is 'Ramsey St' itself (Pinoak Court). Two thumbs up.

Value for money. Yum Cha are fantastic especially the Chicken Legs. Beautifully soft. They have 1 hallmark dish. A dumpling soup dish that has scallops and prawned stuffed inside. The soup is based on scallop and has a beautiful taste.

Service by the waiters are excellent. Prompt and attentive. Their handling of the situation where I spilt the tea all over the table was done professionally and my guest and I was quickly moved to another table. Very prompt and the waiters are no doubt an asset for the restaurant.
