Went here last Friday with wifey and a friend from interstate. We've been meaning to give The Graham a go for a while now, and am very surprised we left it so long. I had a shoulder of lamb, which was really good, and the others had steaks. Kinda wished I'd gone for steak too as the bite I had was awesome. Fantastically attentive waitress, and overall great service so really at a loss to explain the negative reviews.

This was one of the most aweful experiences I have had from a restaurant that, according to it's prices, should have done better. When I asked for a wine "recommendation", the waiter simply picked up the menu and read out the wines to me. That is not offering a "recommendation"! I wanted to know something about the wines, not told what they were.
In addition, the wine list was terrible. I am a connoissuer of both local and interstate Australian wines, and there was not one wine that I recognised on that menu. I won't even go into the menu, but my main meal made a "farting" sound when I cut into it, as the cheese "spewed" out onto the plate. A well-seasoned restaurant and kitchen staff should know how to handle cheese fillings inside meat, so that liquid doesn't spurt out.
The service was clunky and pretentious and not friendly at all and the waiting staff did not offer us any incentive to go back at all. You would get more value from going to The Palace, an also local pub restaurant, priced about the same, but with exceptional service, value and food.

Sister-in-law noticed The Graham while walking around the neighbourhood and suggested it for dinner. The waiter agreed to an antipasto platter for three (standard is to serve two). Every item was delicious. Three different mains (we did sample each others dishes). MM and s-in-l shared a dessert, which they said was excellent. Service was excellent, wine list very good with several smaller wineries represented, ambience pleasant.

What an over rated disappointing place. "The twins" game is tired at best and the way they treat their staff is horrendous. I will never eat there again after my last experience and do not recommend it to anyone! Over priced and terrible value.

An impressive winelist, with many difficult-to-obtain wines at moderate (50-100%) markups. Our request to decant a bottle before serving was promptly attended to.
We place our orders, and then wait an inordinate amount of time for our first courses, managing to drink half a bottle of red and a glass of white. There are only three other tables (10 people) seated in a dining room that takes 50.
The kitchen is busy preparing food for an upstairs function, with the attention of kitchen and waiters apparently directed there. We note this, as despite the many tables available, we have been placed in the back corner, and can see into the kitchen proper, with a direct line of sight to the kitchen floor, garbage bin and preparation area. Ambience? Completely unacceptable, and a major deterrent to dining enjoyment.
Food was nothing special, maybe an off day, but the servings did seem small. Does get a hat in the AGFG, but for a gastropub, lacking in generosity and flavour.

I had the best duck curry in Melbourne!!! Definitely a winner, and definitely value for money. I will be returning as I haven't stopped thinking about, how explosive the flavours were!! You'll see me again and dessert was brilliant.

The Graham is up there in my top 3 value for money places in Melbourne. It is an excellent pub conversion to a fantastic quality restaurant with excellent service for what you might pay in an upmarket pub. And the food is loads better. On our last visit on Friday night, we started with a drink in the next door wine bar which has a large list of good wines by the glass as well as some tapas style small dishes if you are hungry. There is a good crowd in there as well. Upon moving onto the restaurant, we ordered an outstanding Morocan Kid Goat done in a Pastry with cous-cous. For roughly $29 it was amazing value for the quality. I had an excellent rib eye. The service here is great and it's by far and away the best place in Port Melbourne.
