I don't think you can get better Indian in Melbourne, certainly not in the east, making this the best value takeaway in town. That said, its better to eat in, as takeaway emphasises the inherent oiliness of the cuisine, and traditionalists would carp that the sheer range of Indian cuisine is not represented.

Good value, the keema naan straight from the tandoor is worth the price of entry. Service always friendly. Cheap BYO if you wish.

Without doubt the best indian restaurant in town, food always good, service always great, take away even better. The poor chef in the glass box on a hot night!

A group of us went to dinner on Saurday night, third time I have been. The food was fabulous, the service excellent and we had a terrific night. It is hard to find places in Melbourne where you can stay for a while without feeling pressure to leave for a second seating. We got there at 7.00 pm and stayed till late and we all had on of the best dining experiences in a long time. They work hard to make everything perfect. Well done.

I was impressed by the tastiness of the food. There was a wide variety of vegetarian dishes for strict vegetarians like me. The prices were a little high by my cheapskate standards, but not at all excessive.

The quality of the food was really good but in terms of ambience and service I was really not impressed. First of all I was made to sit on a table which was not cleared even after asking for 3 times, after that the person who took our order really didn't know anything about the hospitality and even told us not to look at each others faces. I was with my family members and was there after a recommendation from a friend but definitely I will not go back for to eat in but rather have a take-away though.

The place was jam-packed on a Saturday night. We had the Set Menu 2 ($35 pp), food was ok but nothing to write home about. Staff were lovely though, which partly made up for the poor value. I'd visit again for a solid but not spectactular dining experience.

Just returned from a meal here. The place was heaving with people, a good sign. Food was quite good and service very attentive. The place has been there for 26 years, so they must be doing something right. I'd definitely go back.

Friends took us here, and I was dreading yet another old style time warp Camberwell restaurant, but was very pleasantly surprised by the food. All the old Indian favourites, but cooked to a very high standard. Service is good (and colonial style uniforms no less!), and the ambience though very yesteryear works, in the evening at least, not sure about daytime. It is a time warp, but they have maintained/updated their standards. Will surely return.

Went there for lunch, excellent food. Good atmosphere, friendly service. Seemed to be good value for money, and I'd go there again for sure.

Good food at reasonable prices in a pricey part of town. The menu is nothing special - typical South Indian food,but it's well presented in hearty portions. The house specialties add needed variety which is nice. The lunch deals are top notch too.
