To all of you who loves your food with chilli sauce Beware! You'll get charged if you asked for more chilli sauce. Won't be suprised if they charge for refilling the hot water each time they come around! (Yum Cha people would know).
What a disappointment! Food was plain and tasteless, although fresh. Chicken dish was supposed to be served in claypot, I suppose stainless steel designed "claypot" was it. Service was slow and ignoring.
Decor from the 80"s grey. One would expect that with the high prices they charge, food and service would compansate for that. Sorry, there are better Chinese restaurants.
Busy restaurant, quite noisy because everyone is talking talking and talking. But the food is nice, especially the duck!. but..no ducks for yum cha. By the way, you better order a table before you go there!!
Brilliant authentic Chinese food - best in Melbourne. Yum Cha is also excellent with reasonable price and wide variety. Not enough car parking space though.
Lovely food but we dined at Taipan on a Saturday night......very busy. The food was lovely, however as we usually dine at more budget style, I didn't think the foods (although lovely) was worth the price. (Basically we usually pay a third of the price for basically the same thing)
They took over an hour and a half to serve our order, and they served people before us who came in 30 minutes after us. We kept bugging the waiters and they did not respond well. They finally chased up our order when we threatened to walk out. This was really disappointing on Mother's day. And it cost just over a $100 for the 3 of us.
