Our fav indian restaurant I love the Lamb Korma. I would recommend this restaurant it is BYO as well so you do save money.

One of the best Butter Chickens dishes in town.
Décor needs an improvement, but greeted with welcoming host all is forgotten. Great little family run business, will be back over and over again, thanks for a great feed and conversation.

Gluggy rice! That's all I have to say, would never eat there again. There are many Indian restaurants in the area, such as Dee-pan which provides much better quality food.

For a start this place is 45 kms out of Melbourne CBD. However, it is a fine Indian restaurant. The owners wife does all the cooking, so you're guaranteed authentic cooking. I live locally and use this restaurant for take aways too. Next to Aamantran in Lygon Street I believe that this is the best Indian in Melbourne. The Nirankar come close but Surya beats it on authenticity.

Highly recommend a visit. It's not a posh place, more like a cafe than a restaurant but the food is good. Having lived in Manchester in the UK and used the famous 'curry mile' in Rusholme most weekends. Surya would rate amongst the best half a dozen Indians I have eaten in. In particular try the Beef Vindaloo and the keema Nan.

I have been to this restaurant twice. The place is nice, ambience is good and the service is fine. The only negative point about this place is that it is somewhat pricy for the quantity of food served. The servings are small compared to other Indian restaurants and price is higher. Other than that everything is good. I will be going back again but not in near future and definitely not very frequently.

21st November 09, 6 pm ~ My husband and my 2 children went back to this restaurant after many years of being away from the local area and were so happy to see it is still as good as it was back then, food was very nice service excellent place was pretty busy and everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves. I will definitely be going back. We really liked it and so did our kid! Tashi and Wayne from a farm in the country.

29th July 09, 7 pm - My partner and I went to this restaurant as it was advertised on the VRI voucher book. We were the only ones in there and were given the corner table that was not as nicely done up as the other tables. The food was over priced, 4 pieces of chicken tikka was $12, Goan fish curry was $18 and was served in a very small round serving pan, for this size serving I would have expected to pay no more than $10.

To top the night, we were overcharged and had to show evidence from the discount book that we should have been given the 25% discount as advertised and not the 15% the owner had given. We will not be going here again on principal!
