Really nice place but too big since it was mostly empty. Our steaks were tender and tasted good, but service was pretty average. Still can't find a nice restaurant with a sporty feel and good service.

What can I say, the food was great and the atmosphere is sporty. A very casual restaurant with a great steak. Takes a while to get a table on a friday, saturday and sunday night but well worth the wait if you ask me. The staff are friendly and try their best to make it a great night out. Even seen a bar tender singing and dancing having a great time which I found fantastic.

This was our second visit to Crown with friends on a Friday night to take advantage of their $12 meal and $12 drinks card offer and decided to try Steakout.

Overall it was a disappointing experience. Although the food was quite good (I had a very tender steak sandwich), the service was slow and disjointed with three different people serving us throughout the night. We only ordered four desserts but they brought out five and the waitress couldn't tell us whether or not the cream on the pavlova was fresh or not and wasn't interested in finding out (one of our group was pregnant), it wasn't and we had to send the dessert back.

There was no real atmosphere and it was noisy, but, perhaps, that was to be expected here. To top it off they forgot to give us our free parking vouchers when we paid (unfortunately, the restaurant part had closed by the time we realised).
If you're looking for a relaxed meal at Crown I'd definitely recommend the others over Steakout.

Its not oftened I'm allowed to choose a steak restaurant to go for dinner as my partner is not a fan of steak. The atmosphere was rather dull and the service slow. I ordered the rib eye and it was very good. My partner ordered the papadalle pasta and she was not impressed. Upon closer inspection the pasta was all stuck together, and drenched in oil. Yuck! We're not fans of sending food back to the kitchen for fear of having it spat on.

Unfortunately, I will not be allowed to go to Steakout again after this. Disappointing.

Ordered Porterhouse Steak medium rare and was told it only comes medium. It arrived well done. Wife ordered pumpkin soup that turned up cold but was replaced with piping hot one after complaining. This was a work xmas party. Waiters were fast with their service. They took orders and noted seats where each meal was to be but when the meals arrived, a different set of waiters had no idea who ordered what and asked the patrons what they ordered.

After a few drinks some of them could not remember but eventually sorted it out. House wine from central bar, seemed like it serviced more than one restaurant, was not bad for cask stuff. All up the food was generally good but the steak was the worst, not what you would expect from their name. Not fine dining but, if you are out for a cheap meal you could do a lot worse.

Okay for those who haven't been to this venue here is more reviews that I experienced when I arrived at Steak out:

Food: The food was fantastic I had the beef rib meal for 12 on thursday (the special is a mon-thurs except public holidays) and when you think 12 dollars, may be average quality think again the ribs were fantastic! melted off the bone when you cut it and was cooked perfect. It even came on a hotplate that kept it hot. My partner had spaghetti and it came with proper tomato relish sauce.

The venue was loud but what do you expect from it being at crown, so get over it if you like a quiet venue. The service was a little let down. We ordered 2 cokes and got them in just the 350ml bottles without glasses and they were warm. I have overall had an excellent time there and would recommend it to anyone, however, if you are looking for cheap then maybe this isn't the place for you.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised to get a window table which had a fantastic night view of the Melbourne Night near the Yarra. Service was a little slow at the start and the food wasn't "hot" but scrumptious. The setting was very welcoming and the waitresses were lovely. We had a great time, wining and dining and eating good meat. We'll definitely go back soon.

The meat just melted in your mouth. We had to wait 30 minutes to get into the place but it was well worth it. If you are a big meat eater it is ideal for you.
