Dined at Sapore twice, both times had lovely experiences. Waiting staff attentive, but, perhaps, could have been a little less suffocating.
Meals were impeccably presented and flavours of each dish worked brilliantly together. Recommend the Duck and Barramundi. The chocolate desserts are slightly sparse but to die for, bring back the marquise!

Recently came here while on a trip to Melbourne. I am planning my next trip down just for another burger. If you think that this is mildly excessive, clearly you have never been.
Came with 6 others, we ordered a few things each and shared it all round, utterly amazing. Had we not been so full, we would have ordered a second round of foods.
I don't want to single out anything off the menu, because everything we had was pure brilliance. Also, the best lemon, lime and bitters I have ever had, I had here.
Aboslutely Super Highly Recommended to anyone who will listen.

Big disappointment! Completely over priced! We dined here last Saturday night and had been looking forward to it for ages! When we got there it was very unatmospheric and we were completely shocked at the pricing for the spec of restaurant we were in. It is a casual dining room yet you would not pay $46 for a tiny chicken pie in the Ritz, London! Seriously?! Who do they think they are kidding? Very very bland and uninspiring dining experience. Will not be returning.

Went for Sunday lunch - full tables outside as it was a sunny day, so sat inside, but great views too. Love the decor and the bar. Good, relaxed vibes. Staff are friendly (and gorgeous!) but sometimes took a little time to get their attention.
Had the Chef selection dozen oysters (that came the same time as mains which should have been served earlier to break up the half hour wait) - Must Try! these were so fresh. Definitely ordering these next time!
Mains were good portions although friend had the rib eye that was just under $50 (way too pricey, but cooked well), and the lamb cutlets could be a little more seasoned. Meals did satisfy the hunger pains from the wait, food took 45 minutes to be served after ordering.
Try the bloody mary for a hangover cure, they do it well here! And head there early as it does get busy into the arvo when it turns into more of a bar.

Not the best value for money but always enjoyable. A fantastic range of tapas with dishes to suit all tastes.
I also really like this place as a bar. It has a solid cocktail and wine selection. Sometimes you will cop a waiter with that St Kilda cool attitude but overall they are funky and upbeat.

Good to see a greek restaurant not neglecting fish, as happens all too often in this city! Top notch food with good service. Definitely deserves a return visit.

Had an overpriced fishermans basket type thing. Over fried fish, fish cocktails were next to inedible and the scallops like rubber. And seriously, upon asking for lemon and maybe tartare sauce I was told they don't have/sell/provide it. A fish and chip store without tartare sauce or lemon? Got to be kidding. Give this place a miss!

Outstanding is the only word you can use to describe Golden Fields. The Lobster Rolls are amazing. The Duck is sensational and the slow cooked Lamb shoulder is easily the best I have tasted. As for the service I have never had an issue. I have found them to be extremely attentive. I will qualify that by saying I have only ever sat at the Bar. But easily one of the better Restaurants I have been to since moving to Melbourne.

I went to Sapore on Sunday night with a friend. All was good until we went to order. After giving the waiter my order my friend then ordered the Set Menu. That is when the problems started. We were informed that both people had to have the set menu.
For what reason that was I didn't even ask. Then after five minutes I decided I would have the Set Menu as well even though it wasn't to my liking. Then I asked if I was able to substitute a glass of Wine for a Beer. I was then told I could substitute a Soft Drink or Orange Juice instead.
After much consideration we decided to walk out. Can someone please explain to me how a Restaurant can dictate what you can and can't order on a Sunday night when there was ten people in the Restaurant. While the food might be good at Sapore, unfortunately, the attitude of Management and Staff leaves quite abit to be desired.

We arrived on a Friday night with no booking and not much time as we had to catch a show and the staff were very accommodating, friendly and efficient. I had the crab spaghetti and my husband the chicken breast with a shared side of brussel sprouts. All the portions were generous and really tasty. A great dining experience.

I'd been here a few years ago and at the time the servings were too large (we hardly finished our mains) and the attitude a little dismissive. But, time often changes things and this is a great example.
Firstly the food is really well executed, the service has dramatically improved and the meal sizes are under control. But there are other improvements as well.
While their booking policy may still be in place they let us reserve a table while we grabbed a drink and met up with another member of our dinner party up the road. When we returned 45 minutes later the waitress immediately provided water and let us know one of the specials was running out. We felt looked after and had some friendly banter with the waitress without it being all weird.
The food was great, and one of our party said the beef was the best he'd had in his 8 weeks of travel. My venison was perfectly cooked and the sauce to meat to veg ratio clearly thought about.
Will definitely return

A reasonable attempt at a Japanese restaurant, though not strictly Izakaya, Ichi Ni offers a little bit of everything. Servings were small to very small, and had the light been brighter I'm sure we could have read a newspaper through the sashimi. But it was fresh and tasty. The surroundings were pleasant and the service attentive (though we did have to ask 3 times for a beer, then realised there was only one person behind the bar for the whole restaurant, so 15 minutes wasn't that bad...not really!).

After reading about the local/ethical ethos of this place, I looked forward to an enjoyable nights dining. This was not to be. Finding the venue was hard enough. There is no signage and not in the cool down a laneway style, it just seems they didn't think to erect one. The lack of thought seemed to spread through almost everything at Slow Down. Aptly named for its service and food delivery speed. I won't bore you with the details, just advise you that if you are thinking about going, slow down, in fact stop thinking about it all together.

Lunch at the Stokehouse in St Kilda is worth doing! Lovely decor, friendly and accommodating staff. And the food. Omg it just makes you want more! We ordered an entree of rabbit w foie gras and 1/2 dozen oysters. Mains were veal pappardelle and the steak (which I can't recall what it was.. sirloin I think). Extremely tasty and flavoursome.
The only negative was that the steak was more medium rare than the rare I had asked for. But regardless, it was still so delicious. I tasted my partners veal pappardelle and it was so tender with al dente pasta. I want more! Dining here is only for special occasions for us as it is a bit pricey but it is so worth it!

Tried a few other cake shops along Ackand st and this was the pick. We had a Chocolate Kupbelhopf? (something we had never had before but was amazing) and a orange hazelnut cake. Both really hit the mark.
Inside it is very original and you could just imagine how it was many years ago. Very unique place!
