If you like sharing well-cooked pizza and pasta in generous portions with friends or family, Sofia Pizza Restaurant is the place for you. Located in the busy suburb of Camberwell, Sofia Pizza is a popular choice when eating out with a large group, kids especially love it there. It must be the big servings of salads, pizzas, pastas, gelato and other Italian deserts that keep them coming back for more. Sofia Pizza Restaurant is a good choice for its delicious and cheap Italian food that comes in big servings. Perfect for takeaways or sharing with a big group.

Sofia is a reliable restaurant to eat if you're hungry and want large portions for a cheap price. The food is pretty tasty for the value and you always get so much you must take some home which you don't often get to do these days.
The only downside is that the service isn't that great, sometimes it can take a long time to catch the waiter's attention to even get you a bottle of water, a menu or cutlery. We've eaten in and take away aswell and enjoy it every time.

Having lived in Camberwell for 4 years, this is a local's favourite. One of the things you will never forget is the portion sizes! Generous is an understatement, as you can almost feed a family of 4 with just the 2 mains. The pasta and pizza here are all very tasty and the services are always good. It is def a restaurant I would go back again.

We stumbled on this restaurant when we were looking for a sandwich on holiday Monday. Decided to share a large pizza and large spag bol between the three of us, plus a large bread. Could not believe it when the bread arrived, a huge round tray full of it! The large pizza was huge with loads of mushrooms, and the spag bol was just enormous. We ate well, then took home enough for another meal. The food was hearty and delicious. I have never seen such good value for money and the wine was inexpensive too. What a find. I am a Sydney sider but will be back on my next trip!

Service is amazing, my favourite dish is the calamari. I go there regularly and everytime I do the service is great, food cooked wonderfully, generous portions and the overall feel of the place is great.

After eating at Sofia, I no longer like other Italian restaurants. Sofia's food portions are big, they're generous with their ingredients and they taste good. I've grew fond of Italian food because of Sofia. Can't wait to go back there. I particularly like to go for Fettuccine Avocado and Chicken and Mushroom Risotto.

Was here on 12 September 2009 for lunch. The dishes were indeed big, as everyone says. The vegetarian risotto was very tasty. The other two chaps were very happy with their dishes too, particularly with the amount of food.
The table arrangments are quite informal, which is how I like it. Big chunky tables and big chunky food. The environment was suitable for having conversations. I would definitely go back again.

If you are a Pizza eater and want something tasty and affordable at the same time, this is the place. I stayed very near to this restaurant, and visited randomly. Then for 5 days of my stay I ate at this place for 6 times. Tandoori chicken pizza, Sea food pasta was among my favourite. Servings were really huge. Place is BYO, so I could get my favourite wine and enjoy. Wait staff is loud but very friendly.
Will surely eat again, and again on my next visits.

Can I rate it 100 for value? Anyone who has been to Sofia's knows the servings are huge I went for the first time about 6 weeks ago and what I anticipated compared to what I received can only be likened to a matchbox car next to a real car (Sofia's food being the metaphorical real car), no exaggeration, I also ordered dessert so needless to say by the time I left I felt like a beachball with arms.
Staff are welcoming and attentive and the atmosphere is warm and family oriented. It is worth the tram ride from the city so go along and have a chuckle when the person next to you orders an entree, large main and dessert.

Great value. Large portions (just order the entree unless you skipped breakfast and lunch). Not the highest quality ingredients but that is to be expected from such a high volume, moderate priced establishment.

This place really is amazing. Firstly, the size. It has a huge floor plan, and thats not including upstairs! No booking necessary.
Secondly, the food is good. We always share a small pizza, one entree sized pasta (be warned, the serving sizes are enormous) and a greek salad, with a BYO bottle of red. (This is fine for two adults). I think we pay around $30 for this, which is unbeatable.
If you order too much (and most people do) no worries. The staff are happy to 'doggie bag' it for you, with a smile. If you're still hungry, try one of their ice cream/gelato desserts. You won't believe how big this thing is, and we always finish it, no matter how full we are!
Thirdly, the service is commendable, especially considering how busy this place is. The tall older guy (one of the owners?) with the long hair is a gem. He will know what you want before you do. Yes, sometimes the young, part time staff lose the plot, (probably uni students) but given how busy this place is, you can't blame them. While I agree the food here won't rival a good Italian restaurant, at least you know it will be fresh. The turnover must be huge.
Sofia's is a success story, and after one visit here you will see why. The thousands of overseas students that call Melbourne home have discovered the value of this restaurant, you should too. Now only if they would open one in the city!
