Had dinner at Slippery jacks on Friday night for the first time. What a great night out! First we enjoyed a drink in the cellar door bar, then moved through to the dining room for a delicious meal (I had the duck terrine and the lamb). Followed by a cheese board and coffee on the lounge. Couldn't ask for more than that. Staff were lovely and very efficient even though the place was extremely busy. Can't wait to book the babysitter again for another night out.

Side dishes come out after the main is finished, even after mentioning twice to waiters. Well done steak arrives as medium rare (pics taken) & staff announce they "didn't hear you ask for well done." The waitress took our 4 orders without writing them down & repeating them back (while having a blue pen shoved in her hairdo). Very very disappointing! Their website needs to be read by the staff & then addressed!
We were out to have a nice night but wish we had gone to the local pub, better meal & nicer service! Please try harder guys. I can't say I'd go back though after the poor service in conjunction with the meal.

Granted this is a new restaurant however on recommendation that we go here as the owner had operated a pub in the area, it was dissapointing to say the least.
We were recommended the duck which was meant to be crispy skin and it was anything but and not cooked properly at all (pink in the middle). My partner had the risotto and said that it was bland and not cooked through. Even the drinks, we had no idea what any of the wines were on the menu and our waiter didn't seem to either although he was a young guy and seemed to be just learning. The Manager (who I think was the owner) looked frazzled and stressed which made us uncomfrotable.
We also found it to be overpriced and would have loved to have had the steak but at $42 I thought that was a bit rich for the suburbs. All in all we will be giving this place a miss until they are more established.

Great Night. Good food. Duck main and scallop entree was terrific. The wine selection is typically up to Chris's standard with a good and unusual selection and very good value. The ambience is very good and the noise was low even when full. A big feature for us.
