Had brunch here. The atmosphere was lacking, as surprisingly at 9:30 am on a Sunday we were the only people in the cafe. Very friendly waiting staff, and not surprising since it was just the 2 of us, we received very quick service. Food was ok, just your typical breakfast menu. Coffee was nice and hot.

This is a lovely eastern suburbs restaurant. The starting touch of complementary chick peas, almonds and olives in warm olive oil served with yummy bread is a great way to start off the evening. Patrons are served in a friendly manner and made to feel like welcome guests.

A surprise in the outer suburbs. This is a daytime cafe/bar that has begun to serve excellent cuisine at night. Dressed up with white starched tablecloths, and napkins, candles and good music this little place is open from Wednesday night to Saturday night. Not a huge menu but I consider it to be exceptional. Good choice of red and white wines. BYO as well. Give it a try with someone special. It's worth it.

This is a really happy place. Spotlessly clean and always busy but not busy enough so you cannot find a table. The food is always fresh and delicious. They have the best veggie omellette I have ever eaten. They were BYO but now have a licence and it adds that little bit extra to dining pleasure. The food is reasonably priced and the menu is really interesting and very varied. Most items are prepared from scratch at the restaurant and not bought wholesale. My recommendation is to definitely try Sketches when you are in the Burwood area.
