Found a little gem, I spent last Saturday evening with a group of friends at Shillinglaw. It has such a cosy, relaxed atmosphere and the food was delicious. We all had a great time and I will definitely go back again.

Great little place, I have only had breakfast and lunch there, but have had nothing to complain about in the 6 or so times I've been. The service is not fast but it is very friendly, great for a lazy Sunday lunch.

Had a great night last Friday with a group of friends, finally found a local place with superb food and a relaxed atmosphere. Everyone loved the food, the standouts were the calamari salad and the kangaroo which was cooked just how I like it. Enjoyed the music and felt really cosy by the open fire. Will definitely go back again.

Saturday evening was a disaster. Although the web site indicated BYO, not the case, therefore, no glasses provided. Not enough menus for the 6 at the table (restaurant not full at 18 guests). Menu fell out of folder and consisted of Mothers Day and autumn menu's both of which are redundant in July.

Service slow, one main meal failed to arrive even though the order was double checked by the waitress, another wait of 20 minutes (ie. one guest eating alone as all others at the table had finished). No offer of desserts/coffee, nor an apology. Owner/manager only concerned with payment. One free drink insufficient to entice us to dine there again in a hurry. Disappointing as we support our local restaurants.

Really enjoyed a ladies midweek lunch here. We didn't go inside so can't comment on inside ambience. Outside was lovely as it was a perfect day, although the outdoor tables could do with a classier upgrade. Food was very, very nice. I had the creamy prawns with Jasmine rice from the specials board, I really enjoyed it. Others at the table had a beef burger, linguini and risotto. Everyone was impressed with their meal although there was a comment that the risotto could have been hotter.

Mains were about $18.00 each. I enjoyed two glasses of the Cab/Sav/Merlot ($6.00/glass)and I'm kicking myself for not remembering the name of it because I'd like to get my own stash! Staff very friendly and welcoming.
