Worst yum cha in Melbourne. Staff are arrogant and out of touch. Used to be bustling happy high end eatery. Now place is stuck together with duck tape, literally and the service is non existent. Managers prance around looking very important but don't actually do anything. Terrible and very sad to see this happen to such a great place.

112 of us went for dinner. Everyone was freezing, had to ask 3 times for the heating to be turned up, other tables had the same problem. Very poor service, the waitress was very rude, leaning all over us and slamming food on the table. Had a Banquet and the next dish came when we'd just started the previous course. As soon as we'd paid our bill she told us to leave (not asked!) even though there were still a number of diners still eating at other tables. Food was quite tasty but we wouldn't go again and wish I'd read the reviews first.

Not that bad now. We went there last week with a Srilankan crowd from work place.

Everybody said the service is bad. They are absolutely right. Rude staff, rude senior staff. I do not even dare to argue with the staff or else I might get "extra ingredients". Everybody said the food is great. They are wrong. Elsewhere food tastes better than the food in Shark Fin House. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone unless you love expensive disappointing food.

Service seemed good but it was, indeed, rude and fake. Food was great but smaller serves than before. Surprisingly, a staff didn't return $25 changes and ask whether I was going to keep that?

Like a good Chinese restaurant. You are there for the food not the ambience or the service. Having been here on numerous occasions for Yum Cha with both work colleagues and family. The Yum Cha is def one of the Best in town. No question in its flavour and authenticity when comes to your typical Yum Cha dishes i.e. shrimp dumplings, siew mei and even the chicken feet.
However, as its focus is to turn more tables to maximise profit, do not expect good service (especially when the floor manager comes to ask when you are going to pay and leave before you even get the chance of finishing that last dim sum).

Where do I even start? After walking around Melbourne's China-Town for around an hour to find where the best Chinese meal would be, we were lured to what we though may be the best Chinese restaurant around. Big mistake!
In my food eating career this could quite possibly have been the worst eating experience I've ever had. Without being over-the-top, I strongly urge anyone who reads this not to make the same mistake I did.
Firstly, the food. The food was terrible with the prawn bread taking the gold. I thought I was going to crack my front teeth while eating it, which was followed by a bitter after taste which lingered. If only the Chinese tea was scaldingly hot I may have burnt the taste buds off my tongue so I would they would be inanimate all together. The rest of the meal I honestly can't remember as I was too focused on the terrible service that we were to receive.
The service was appalling, the sort of thing you would find being held captive in Guantanamo Bay and not something I would like to experience again. This was the worst part for me and by paying for my meal I felt as though I was supporting their arrogance and total ignorance.
All-in-all, a terrible meal with service that was a total joke, something that you may receive while trying to order chicken from a 10 year old at KFC. I will never return here and it's a real shame that places like this exist.

I wasn't sure what to expect, as I had never been to a Yum Cha place, but it came highly recommended by a dear friend. The food was very good and seemed there was plenty of it. The service was a little rushed (Saturday morning) but this was to be expected as there were many people waiting to be seated. Needless to say I will be back in the future!

I still like this place for yum cha. It's still popular, though not as much anymore, maybe cos there are other good yum cha places now. The place is noisy, tables were too close to each other, but still, it was comfortable cos of the chairs and proper table-cloths. Service sucks here, but who cares! We're supposed to relax and have our yum-cha slowly anyway.
