My husband took me here as a blow out, for my birthday, while visiting from Christchurch. I have never had a worse experience of my life! I had to return my seafood main untouched, which was too salty, my husband reordered a lamb for me while he continued to eat his. This I also had to force down.
What really got to me, (as we own a restaurant), was that the wine was overpriced, as was the meal the service was average but they charged us full price for both my un eaten meals and also a service charge on our mastercard! Total $400! I came away angry and without enjoying the experience which should have been memorable for the right reasons.

My partner and I wasted a possibly nice lunching experience at this restaurant. Our food (veal meatballs and pasta) was overly salty. The extra greens we ordered at $16 per miserable dish were slightly yellowing thru age. They did not have the wine we ordered from the menu and offered something completely different. Thank God for the bread and lovely oil. We filled up on that! Our bill came to $127.00 for two main courses, and two serves of old veges and two glasses of wine.
When the waiter finally came to take our dishes away, he did not even comment on the fact that neither my husband and I had barely touched our food. Made me think he got a lot of complaints!

I spent last weekend in Melbourne and went to 2 restaurants whilst we were there, just me and my wife.
This place was a huge disappointment, it was freezing cold outside and we arrived 10 minutes early for our booking. The restaurant had not officially opened so the uptight maitre de would not let us sit in the totally empty bar area or stand in the lobby for 10 minutes. Instead turned us away into the cold and said come back in 10 minutes. Not a great start to have to stand in the cold and wait.
My wife ordered a glass of champagne, about $30 for a glass of Moet, overpriced but it was a special weekend. It arrived flat as a pancake and we had to go through the embarrassment of sending it back and getting a fresh one.
Although pre-theatre menu was available we decided to order off the a la carte. I went for Seafood pasta, this is a supposedly one hat restaurant and I wanted to try some of the best pasta around. It was very ordinary, not much seafood and the sauce was like a jar of ragu, the pasta was overcooked. My wife had wagu beef, very small serving and again nothing special. The food was of pub standard and about 3 times as expensive.
Extremely disappointed and way better options nearby much cheaper, the bill here was $170 for 2 and we only had 1 drinks each. The service wasn't very good either, at times I was waving my arms around trying to get the waiter's attention and this was at 6 pm with only a few tables occupied. All in all very amateur and I would never return here.
The other night we went to Movida which was packed and was probably in the top 10 meals I've ever had.

7 of us went to Scusami recently for my sons birthday. We all eat out a lot both in Australia and overseas, and this was the worst dining experience we have had in a long time. We waited 45 minutes for our ordinary entree and another 45 minutes for the even worse main meal. The wait would have been forgiven if a sincere apology was offered with, perhaps, a "Can we get you a drink while you are waiting for your meal."
We could not believe the main meal when it arrived. The portions were no bigger than the entree! The "rack of lamb" that I ordered, turned out to be only 2 cutlets and 1 stuffed brussell sprout. This cost $49, a price I would find normal for a reasonable sized good quality meat dish, but outrageous for what it was. My sons steak was 2 mouthfuls and only 1/4 inch thick. The other 5 meals all had similar stories. These were not small but exquisite meals, they were just very very small and average to poor in quality.
The dining setting and location were very nice but that's where it stopped. After the entree we told the waitress we hadn't been offered a drink in 45 minutes, but this still didn't prompt her to take our orders. Soon after the main arrived, we complained to the senior staff, who was rude and defensive, and neither he or the kitchen staff offered any form of recompense, only gave us a bill for $500! We went home hungry. Would have been better off going to the local pizzeria.

I've had better italian food, I found the food bland and found myself regretting paying so much for my meal. The view of the yarra and the city was great from the balcony, but this didn't make up for the forgettable steak, veal and fish as mains.
The staff were quite standoff-ish and the other patrons also gave off a 'snooty' vibe and I would say it felt like a restaurant where your elbows had to stay off the table, and boisterous friendly conversation had to be left at the door with your coat. Certainly didn't feel like a fun lively place.
Maybe I'd go here to impress a client or a date with the stunning view and up market setting, but I would do so begrudgingly as the food was mediocre, didn't feel worthy of the bill and the staff were well trained but also robotic.

I was looking forward to eating here for a while so made a point of having Sunday lunch before heading back to Sydney. The price of the lunch menu was excellent. The calamari starter was fab but the carpaccio was too overpowered by truffled egg! I felt our main course was not of a standard of a top class Melbourne eatery, meatballs was the only pasta dish on the lunch menu. The service was very good, if I was to go back again I would go in the evening to really soak up the atmosphere.

Only eaten here once but I loved it. Both enjoyed the food very much. Overall we enjoyed very good service, but I think that the service might vary according to how you are dressed. We we in evening wear and noticed a party featuring polar fleece and an acqua track top receiving far less attention and respect. You wonder if the waiters are on commission!

Agree with most of the posters here, visually beautiful venue, really fabulous food, excellent service. Cost isn't as high as some posters make out, I work nearby and often eat lunch there for only a fraction more than it would cost at the food court below it!

Have dined here on about 8 occasions over the past 5 years and have yet had a bad meal or an unpleasant experience. The staff are a little aloof but all based on the imagery relating to the meal and the venue. If you want to eat your fill? Not the place for you. If you want to experience food at standards that exceed most of Melbourne you are in for a treat.
