Food, service and ambience were all top-notch, the desserts in particular were excellent. Prices here need updating though, you'd be looking at $35+ now for a main & entree not $29.

Quality, fresh and delicious food. The service is fantastic, your water glass is never only half full and expect to have the door opened for you. Lovely dinnerware which is always clean and well presented. This is one of my favourite places in Melbourne!

Really lovely service and staff here. The menu is also not your typical Thai one which I love as it's always good to have something different. The food is well made and tasty. My favourite is the Entree of Peanut Minced Pork with Roti, Carrot and Cucumber - delish!

A different Thai experience, specific menu like in a fine dining restaurant, they match the sauce to the meat and don't offer every dish in chicken, pork, beef, prawn etc. And no Buddhas or Elephants to be seen, not that these are bad, but its just that this place is different.

We took friends out for a birthday celebration, they had never tried Thai before and I wanted to introduce them to something different. So after a bit of research I decided on Samanee. Wow were they impressed, everything we ordered was really well presented and tasted amazing. Fantastic food, great service, and real good value. We will be back.

Here they come. Best Thai in Mount Rd. As a local, I have been looking forward to the quality and authentic Thai food in this area for many years. Samanee is the finest Thai in every ways.

The food here is slightly different (and tastier) from other normal places you always find 50+ items replicating from one another. For entree, we had the pork mince slow cooked in coconut cream served with roti breat and carrot sticks. Melt in the mouth!

The scallop entree is delightful. Amazing flavours of all fresh herbs and betel leaf.
Roast duck curry is beautifully cooked and perfect with their pinot by the glass.
The unusual stir fry of prawn, fish, mango and pears in a light red chilli sauce is stunning. The heat from chilli, sweetness from pears, salty from fish sauce and the freshness of seafood make it a winner.

Thanks Samanee for bringing your quality Thai, complex flavours, helpful staff and wonderful wines into the area.
