Had lunch here, fantastic - understated elegance and great food.

Not very impressed with this place. My wife and I had dinner on a Saturday night, we had booked well in advance but that didn't prevent them from giving us the table right by the door which was fairly annoying. It felt like they were a staff member down as it took a long time for anyone to take our order and our wine glasses were left empty for too long.

The food was Ok, tasty but nothing special. The yabby salad need more yabby (only included two little yabby tails) and similarly the Moreton Bay Bug Pasta came with a big bowl of pastas but insufficient bugs! The Deep-fried King George Whiting was nicely cooked but need something green to cut through the batter and chips. Of course we could have ordered the iceburg lettuce for $9 dollars but though that was over the top!

The other small complaint was that the wine wasn't cold enough. Not a bad night but we won't go back.

I was really looking forward to the food from this restaurant based solely on its own website information but was somewhat disappointed. The atmosphere was a trifle stiff, Ok, you can expect that sometimes from fine dining. The decor was lovely and the entrance interesting, I loved the blend of back street dirty alley and crisp linen and sharp service outfits, this worked for me.

The food, however, left a lot to be desired. The entree' of Salted Cod Croquette was so salty it was unpleasant. The Jumbo oyster at $5 each was nothing to rave about and was warm. When I brought this up with the waiter, he argued with me, he said it had come straight from the chill room. Considering the entree' was served to us immediately, it must have been sitting on the bench somewhere prior to serving.

The Bug Salad was to die for and definitely the highlight of the meal, pity it was so miniscule. The Potato Gnocchi (entree' size) was so incredibly salty, I almost couldn't finish it, but I pushed on as the entire meal was so small.
We went elsewhere for dessert as the three courses were served to us and the meal eaten and over in just on 40 minutes. Sorry, but I would not go back again.

The setting hesitates between fine dining and industrial with pipes and tubing being lit by candles. Not my favourite atmosphere. The service is prompt, efficient even if a tad lost at times (got gnocchi instead of gyoza). The menu is just the right length and variety and the wine list is pretty good even if a bit on the pricey side. The food was pleasant but not to die for. To us, it was a "why not" restaurant more than a "I cannot wait to go back" one.

I am a big fan of Esposito in Carlton so had to visit St Peter's. It's brilliant, simply brilliant! A great atmosphere, the service was really friendly and helpful and the food - to die for! Zucchini flowers with smoked eel mousse were amazing and so was the John Dory and the Ocean Trout. I can't wait to go back there again!

I went to Saint Peters on the weekend and the food was amazing. There were 5 of us that went and had both entree and main and all 5 of us thought it was the best meal we had eaten in a long time. No one could fault any of their dishes - except for a lot of food envy around the table.
