Some of the slowest service for a lunch service I have ever experienced. Overpriced as well. The cafe section looks better value (and had far better service when I was there).
The view, the view, the view. Food alright but definitely expensive for what it is. Part of the bill is obviously for the excellent view so sit in the balcony area and enjoy it! Service good. Dessert unspectacular.
Great for breakfast but otherwise the food is very uninspiring and very over priced. Ordered a baguette for lunch what arrived with no garnish on the plate or in the baguette, literally slapped on a plate. So dry it was inedible and $15!
Stick to breakfast.
The restaurant is pretty much about the location. Looking over Schnapper's Point in the Mornington Peninsula, it's an amazing lunch time view. The food is mediterranean based and seafood is a dominant theme, with things like seafood platters and seafood linguine. The food is priced in the mid-high range. For example I paid approx $30 for a main of seafood linguine and $26 for an entree sized lobster salad.
Both dishes were quite good, with a few minor flaws. The entree was a bit under-seasoned. I thought the main was great (rich tomato sauce with finely chopped parsley) except a couple of the mussels served were not open. Normally I wouldn't mind but for the price I was paying I expected to make sure all the produce was eatable! The service was friendly and efficient but really it was more about the location than anything else. Will be back for another visit!
We were seated straight away, waiter was very helpfull and the menu was exquisite. Didn't wait too long for food and when it came it was very good.
I would highly recommend all the food we tried at the restuarant, the chef's were excellent and I would definitely pay the above average price for the well above average food.....will definitely visit again.
We waited over an hour for entrees and another hour for main courses. Out of four dishes three were over-cooked and dried out. A reason for the wait was that it took time to "COOK THE STEAK TARTARE"!!!! Also that they were serving "300 to 400 yachties". Too bad. Y
ou open a restaurant and charge Melbourne prices then you should ensure your kitchen can cope with regular commitments. Deserts were similarly disappointing with one tart pastry case unevenly cooked (burned on one side). All up only three dishes out of six were even worth contemplating paying for, and then the prices were too dear. The manager was too busy smoozing with fellow yachties to give two hoots about other customers. It was a disgraceful night riddled with lack of professionalism. Never will return.
