Loved It. Great food and service, very family friendly. We saw the review in the age in January and have been wanting to visit for a while. Finally got there. Very impressed.

Xmas lunch, 2011 will never forget, the worst meal the 4 of us have ever had.
The turkey was round a dry as a old boot (packet frozen), and all we could taste on the so called fresh Snapper was the abundance of pepper corns, that masked the fish taste, as for the entrees supposedly a prawn cocktail! was a lettuce leaf with canned shrimps and a sort of sauce, that made everything limp and tasteless.
Oh and there was the corn jacks they weren’t too bad as they were the only thing that any flavour (wonder what frozen packet they were from) but all in all we will never go back there, a waist off over a $600 lunch. Should have gone to the Clover Cottage at half the price. Cheers. Phil………hope this helps.

I went to The Rocks for my 30th birthday with a party of 15 people. The food was lovely and the newly renovated restaurant looks really good. However, the restaurant was having problems with their Visa service, which wasn't realised when we first tried to pay. The senior staff brusquely told us there couldn't possibly be a problem with their system, it must be our card, even after we'd tried 2 different cards.
Luckily I could pay with Eftpos. Even after they realised that the Visa system was down no apology was forthcoming. When I said how disappointed I was at the treatment I'd received the senior staff denied accusing us of having a problem with our card even though that was exactly what he'd said. He was extremely rude and condescending.
It was extremely disappointing to be treated in this fashion especially for a party who had spent several hundred dollars for a lunch.

A menu for fine dining, but missed the mark. Did not start well with our booking not being recorded, but the manager came in to fix the problem, when approached.
Adults Menu, Selected was the Black Angus and Quail Legs. Selected wine was a favourite of the reviewer being Konrad Pinot Noir (Marlborough, NZ) which suited the dishes well. Dishes were presented oddly (small wooden board) but I could see what they were trying to do. Meats were cooked as requested, quail was fiddly but very nice. No effort in the cos lettuce side dish, just some leafs thrown on a plate, (only meat in mains price) and Mash was almost tasteless.
Dessert was Vanilla Bavarois and Affogato. Affogato was very good, Bavarois was a miss, no favour in pistachio. Kids Menu, Not much to say as clearly kids menu although written well wasn't plated to a level I would even touch if not for review. Chicken Main was dry and overcooked, bland and no care given, just thrown on a plate. Ice cream dessert toppings were from a plastic bottle.
Clearly no pass (quality control in kitchen before plates are given to diners).
Service was mediocre, not the best, just ok. Fine dining this is not.

Great for breakfast overlooking the water! Had some good but pricey lunches. Dinner can be great or awful depending on the way the wind is blowing! The service can be brilliant or average. The wine list is pretty good and some of the staff know what they are talking about and offer sound advice in this regard. We've eaten there off and on over a few years. It is good for the area but too inconsistent for the prices they charge. Excellent view from the front tables.

We had a weekday lunch in the cafe section. Things were busy, but we had no problems at all with the service, which was prompt and efficient. One of us had the chicken salad and the other the beef burger, which were chosen from the "cafe" menu and were both fine. We were also offered a more comprehensive -"restaurant" menu, with a lot of emphasis on seafood. However, since we didn't order from this, we can't comment on it.
There was a good selection of wines by the glass, listed on the blackboard. As others have said, the location, on the 1st floor looking out over the pier, is really good.

Bit pricey but worth it. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Service was great and the view is superb. Looking forward to having a breakfast here.

Great for breakfast weekdays. Lunch and dinner: disappointing food, vague service, aloof management. Will always attract people due to the location.

The meals were absolutely delicious but, perhaps, a little small for the price. The view is wonderful, the restaurant is an unbeatable position. The service was terrible, extremely slow. The cutlery were in dirty containers on the table. My drink took 15/20 minutes to reach my table.

Food - overpriced for what they are...didn’t get on much on the plate for $42!! Yes it is about the view..and that's all there is for this restaurant! But then if u really wants the view, just go get fish and chips next door and sit by the beach for the whole view of Schnapper Point! Won’t go back again and definitely not recommended. $150 wasted for not even full meal.
