This was the first time that I have been to this venue and I was very disappointed. I ordered a "Fisherman's Catch" which featured a lot of fried food, all of it seemingly from the freezer. The calamari was tough and overcooked, the fish was soft and oily in its batter and the chips were typical supermarket and soggy. There was a lot of food but for $29 it was very ordinary. The prices of other dishes seemed very high as well considering it was a pub.
Local resident of 6 years and 1st time to this hotel. I found the service from the lady that takes your food order was extremely rude to say the least. I over heard her talking about the customers. All other staff seemed OK. Food was tasted nice and was appealing to look at as well as being served in huge proportions, representing good value for money.
The service here is awful especailly tonight thursday 7 August 2008. I come down to have a drink after work with my friend and the guy take the order with angry face then I ask what's going on with him, and he turns to me and tell me to finish my drink and get off. Is this kind of service that you looking for from this place? This is the expereince that I don't want anybody to have it. I'm so disappointed with the sort of service that Riversdale Hotel gave me tonight.
Having lived in the area for some years, I have used the Riversdale as my "local". In the past 12 months I have noticed that the service has been progressively poorer. The staff are unattentive, unfriendly and at times rude. They never say "thank you" and often stand around behind the bar talking between themselves whilst ignoring patrons. And then glare at you if you have the nerve to ask for service. Very poor.
