We dined at Kojo Brown on 25 May 2012. We had a fantastic dining experience. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked and presented, and it tasted fantastic. The choices were quite varied.

The service was extremely efficient but not intrusive. The staff (young Japanese lady and the Chef) were incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.

We will certainly be returning to Kojos on our next visit to Melbourne and would recommend that you dine there.

While visiting Melbourne from Sydney over the Easter long weekend, Fenix was high on my list of restaurants to visit as I am a fan of Garry's recipes and my sister is mightily in love with him.

First impressions count, and the location alone was worth a glowing review. We were a group of 6 and were greeted within seconds of entering the premises and were seated immediately.

Our waiter, Ben, was one of the most helpful wait staff I have encountered. We were not left wanting for anything, our water was constantly filled, something we normally find ourselves having to ask for and all drink requests were fulfilled quite quickly.

The food was absolutely divine, I cannot even begin to describe the party all of us at the table described our mouths as having with each and every bite, with each and every dish.

Beautiful décor and atmosphere, amazing view of the Yarra river through the trees, brilliant service and brilliant food, brilliant night out. It is the most expensive restaurant I visited during my trip to Melbourne, but worth every cent, no disappointment was had.

Aboslutely Super Highly Recommended.

Stumbled upon this shop while craving for pho on a Sunday. Looks good from outside and with all the photos on the wall. Thought it would be good, so we queue for a place and was instead taken upstairs.

Ordered a beef ball noodle but was given a beef noodle. My pho came first while my wife pho came like 30 minutes after mine (am about to finish mine). Kept asking the lady up there for the order and she kept saying that it's coming, it's coming.

Pho was ok. not too bad but the service was just terrible. Don't think we'll be coming back here again.

Agapi is a delight. My partner and I went for a late lunch on a Saturday. I half expected them to say we were too late for lunch and I would not have been offended as it was nearly 2.00 pm when we arrived but we were welcomed and looked after.

Service was prompt and friendly, and I mean really friendly, without being intrusive. We shared dips for entree but, unusually for us, my partner and I both chose Moussaka for main. It was divine. We both loved it.

Prices are reasonable and great value for money. We will definitely return.

Used to eat here for more that 7 years. Very disappointed with the service. Quality of broth has gone down tremendously. Start venturing to neighbouring shops.

Stopped in here before the footy. Simple menu of pizzas and share plates but was perfect for what we were after. Very tasty pizzas and good selection of drinks. Was very noisy inside but have to expect that especially when the football is on. Good spot.

For years, we've been having lunch in the Vaucluse lounge prior to Saturday afternoon football. It's always been most enjoyable, of very good quality, and excellent value for money. The style of food is more the traditional pub fare, but it's done in a home cooked kind of way. For example, the recent T-Bone steak was an excellent and ample steak with 4 perfectly cooked vegies. Nothing flashy, basic and good.

It seems Eatability is not that famous with Melbournians as I am the first to review this place!

Recently my lovely fiancé and I went to Melbourne. After reading an article on renowned New York Chef David Chang on his visit to Melbourne and falling in love with Pho at this very place, we just had to check it out ourselves! I mean, David states how on his first visit he was so impressed he ate 2 bowls of Pho, then came back the next day and had more!

I am a Pho enthusiast and have eaten Pho in several countries, including Vietnam and America, where David hails from. He goes on to say that this Pho is a lot better than any he has back at home in the States. So we walked down (from inner Melbourne CBD, quite the walk!) and found ourselves in Victoria Street, Richmond. It reminded me of Cabramatta as it was full of Asian restaurants, shops and butcheries with so many Pho options! When we finally arrived, the place was busy but not packed out like some of the places we passed. It was also quite modern and neat. We had friendly wait staff greet and serve us.

Ok, the verdict? Yummy! We had combination Pho, which in Sydney usually translates to “Beef” Combination Pho, but here it included beef and other items like chicken, liver and a small egg. The Pho was delicious, great tasty broth and the rice noodles had good bite to it. And the large bowl is huge! My partner had the large bowl; I luckily opted for medium size as it was a lot of food.

Overall was glad we made the trek out to try it out, very delicious bowl of Pho indeed.

One of my best friends celebrated her 40th birthday at Fenix. The staff was friendly, very attentive but not intrusive. The food was beautiful! We had a couple of starters to share. I especially liked the caramelised lamb sweetbreads with capers and black butter entree. For main I had salmon with avocado puree, gazpacho and Bloody Mary sorbet - it was delicious!

The kitchen sent out a cute little birthday dessert for my friend. We had a fabulous evening!

It's unfortunate that this place is suggesting it is serving "Philly cheesesteak sandwiches". Perhaps they could pass for the McDonald's version of a Philly cheesesteak sandwich but even that would be being kind. The sandwich I was served was tasteless, rubbery and didn't resemble an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich in any way.

Also, the prices are exceedingly extravagant for a McDonald's style set up. If you're going to pay $16 for a fast food sandwich, you at least expect it to be good. After consuming half of what I was served (the rest went in the bin), I would have valued it at around $5 - and that still would have been $5 wasted - instead of the $16 that was actually wasted.

For those of us hankering for a tasty authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich, sorry folks, we'll have to keep looking.

Food not that great in quality for the price paid. Chips with aioli sauce ($7), the chips were hard and the sauce not that nice. Scallops, entree sized ($18), 3 scallops in some sauce, nice taste, but meagre portions.

More importantly, there was no soap in the toilets. I have only come across only one pub (in many) in Melbourne, where this was the case, but a restaurant in Bridge Road, Richmond? Shame!

The food here is described as “Modern Italian”, and we were impressed. We shared some primi dishes, and followed this by mains such as the suckling lamb, the hapuku and the steak. I think every member of our group was satisfied. The service was very good, the room is pleasant and the wine list offered a reasonable range. But this quality doesn’t come cheaply!

We had lunch here on a Sunday. It's one of the best tasting pho's I've had in Melbourne. Excellent flavours in the stock! Ambience was good. Value was good and on par with other restaurants of the same nature in Melbourne.

The service was good, not great but good (we waited a while for one of our drinks to come, which is fine, but the fact you could see the person who is supposed to be making the drinks standing at the counter doing nothing did not impress me). I am, however, very impressed with their new marketing strategy since changing name in September 2011. It's a typical Vietnamese pho restaurant brought into the future! Well done! We will eat here again.

Went here for a friends birthday a few weeks ago. Restaurant was packed, very busy on a Saturday night.

Food took over an hour to come out, and they still forgot drinks that were ordered at the same time. It was a busy night, so we all forgave the staff for that!

Saying all that, we were all very hungry when the food got there, and it was Awesome! I had the full rack of Pork Ribs and they were fantastic. Mates had the mixed grill and was great as well!

Overall had a great night, with great food!

Feb'12 - Was a big fan but not anymore. I am not visiting again! Although the flavour of dum-biriyani remains, the lamb pieces have been under cooked in more than two occasions.

Tandoori chicken was one signature entree and even that was disappointing in the last two experiences. Felt like stale chicken. I hope the new management notices the deteriorating quality and restore its reputation of being the best place for dum-biryani, hyderabadi/moghul cuisine.

Aug'10 - This place serves authentic Dum Biriyani and I remember tasting such good stuff only at Bawarchi in Hyderabad. Even the non-veg en-trees are very appetizing esp the sheek and tangdi kebab. While I always preferred Chicken Biriyani, the Lamb Biriyani here took me by surprise and inversed my preference. Raita is served along with the Briyani and if you get lucky, mirchi-ka-salan too (not sure why it is not served all times).

Fresh French fries they make all day, you can see them making them. I have no idea what's in that secret sauce but the burgers are addictive, tomato, onions just delightful, a treat of course, the kids love it. Enjoy More.

What can I say! After coming across Pats a few weeks ago I'm hooked. Their gourmet steak sandwiches are something else (esp. the philly cheesesteaks). The staff are great and the place look amazingly unique. So the bottom line is if you wan't a chewy steak sandwich go to a fish and chip shop. But if you want the best gourmet steak sandwich you've ever tasted then Pats is surely the way to go... cannot fault.

Have been there three times now since it opened and never disappointing. The food is very fresh and the service top notch which sets it ahead of some of the other Bridge Road Restaurants. Well worth the effort for a taste of something from the wilds of Philly!
