Overview of The Rice Table

The Rice Table comes from the Dutch word of “Rijsttafel”, (pronounced as ‘rayss–taffel’) translated from ‘Rijst’ meaning Rice and “Tafel” meaning Table.

The Rijsttafel is an elaborate meal adapted by the Dutch during its Indonesian colonial period where many side dishes are served in small portions prepared in several different ways, accompanied by steamed rice and other side dishes such as sambal (chili paste) and kerupuk (prawn crackers).

We provide authentic Indonesian Rijsttafel &
Chargrilled Satay.

    Very good new restaurant. Satay sauce is to die for. Some dishes were a little hit and miss but the standouts were the butter prawns and chicken satays. The low points were the nasi goreng and a seafood stirfry that was tasty but very heavy on vegetables rather than seafood. The lamb chops were very good according to my dining companions but I am not a lamb fan, the accompanying sauce was superb. The only problem was the very loud large table in the room echoed loudly making conversation difficult. We will be back.
