Great food, however, very disappointing service, rude old waiter! Will never go back regardless how good the food tasted!

A night out with the girls and decided to go for the Banquet which was absolutely delicious and very generous servings. The atmosphere was very good and warm and the service was close to perfection. We had a fabulous evening and thank you very much Remvi for adding the cherry on top! Hehe. Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends. Actually I already have! :-)

It's not often that I eat at a restaurant that has both excellent service and delicious food. The serving of food is generous and full of flavour. The restaurant was full at the time but the service was still above and beyond. Highly recommend you try Remvi. Make sure you're up for a big feed though.
Response from Management:
Thank you for the great feedback. We are appreciative and happy to read you enjoyed your evening here at Remvi by the Bay and we hope to see you again soon.

My wife and I went for an early supper (17:30-ish) and decided to try Remvi based on the reviews here. Unfortunately did not live up to expectations. Servings were generous but fish was overcooked, potatoes were like they'd come out of a can. Haloumi was beautifully cooked though, one entree between two was plenty. Service was sub-standard, not rude but not particularly happy to see us either, pretty slow given there were only 4 tables in use (if you don't want customers at 5.30 then don't open at that time). Reasonable value, but hardly a great restaurant experience.
Response from Management:
Sorry to hear your experience did not live up to expectations. Here at Remvi By The Bay we pride ourselves on our service, our atmosphere and most importantly of all our Greek traditional home cooked meals.
In reference to the service thank you for your feedback and this has been addressed at our weekly meetings. We came here for lunch on a cold day. The place was nicely warmed up (much needed) but the tables were close in on each other and the one waiter insisted that we sit near the front of the door with everyone else, even though the restaurant only had 4 tables occupied during the entire time we were there. So, there was a serious lack of privacy.
We ordered two entrees which were both extremely tasty. They lose a point for burning one of our pita breads and putting it at the bottom of the stack they brought to the table. Not very classy.
Service was sketchy. The food came quickly enough but the waiter seemed to be in a very bad mood. Guess he was bummed out that he got the Saturday afternoon shift. It took forever to get his attention to bring the bill when we were done. Understandable when a restaurant is crazy busy, but it was a really slow afternoon.
Nothing outrageous on the price. We had enough to fill us with two glasses of wine for $40.
Response from Management:
Thank You for you feedback, we feel that our seating lay out provides a certain level of privacy. Considering that there were only a few patrons in the restaurant l would have thought your privacy would have been maintained.
In reference to the service thank you for your feedback and this has been addressed at our weekly staff meetings.
The Pitta bread incident let me assure you was an oversight that should have never occuried as we do not take any short cuts.
Thank you for taking the time to provide us we this value feedback and l apologise for the late response.

The best traditional greek food in Melbourne. True Greek style portions just like a true greek family dinner. Service outstanding and more like you are eating at a family place rather than a restaurant. These guys are new owners and boy have they made a difference in Williamstown. Congratulations keep up the good work keep the ouzo flowing. We will definitely make this a regular visit.

Had our staff Xmas party last week, everything was fantastic from start to finish. We decided to go for the meat and seafood set menu. The food was delicious, tender, perfectly marinated and very generous. There was a great selection of wines to choose from. Can't wait to return. Service with a smile. Have already booked for early in the new year. Well done and congratulations to the new management.
Response from Management:

Me and my family of 7 went to Remvi for my little brothers birthday. As entering the restaurant you get a great feel of a modern greek restaurant with smiling waiters who very graciously led us to our table. We decided to order banquet one, and also ordered a delicious wine from a great selection on the wine list. The first course came out promptly after drinks, with a variety of anti-pesto, dips with the finest pita bread, eggplant and zucchini cooked to perfection, octopus and the famous saganaki, together with fresh octopus.
After digesting that the luscios sea-food platter came out, the mussels had great flavour and the prawns actually tasted as though they were cooked on an outdoor bbq! everything was soo fresh and delicious we finished that in a heart beat, after this course and a bit of break to digest, the meat platter came out with a modern twist on chicken and lamb skewers and the traditional gyro and lamb cutlets.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Its great ambience and delicious food together with great service all the time, this is a great restaurant to enjoy the greek culture! Plus it was very affordable!
