Have enjoyed coming to this cafe for breakfast for a number of years now, and so was very excited about the idea of having it available for dinner. Unfortunately, this evening we weren't as pleased with our dinner experience. Atmosphere was good, service was good, dips were tasty but the mains were disappointing. Our duck ravioli was 'crispy' (ie not cooked). I ended up leaving the whole dish.

My partner asked not to have an accompaniment with his dish (as he is allergic to it) ended up being served it anyway. Mentioned it to the waitress (as I thought it was worth mentioning, we do want this restaurant to do well as it is one of our locals but there didn't seem to be much interest in our feedback). I'd stick to the breakfast and lunch menu to be safe. Have never been disappointed with coffee or breakfast.

We love this place for consistent great food and coffee, been in for breakfast and lunch a few times and have always loved it.

Thanks Red Rhumba, great coffee, mouthwatering food, delightful atmosphere. I found the service to be very polite and attentive. Reading the review below, it is clear that some people look for the negative in any situation and just like to complain! I would recommend Red Rhumba to all my friends.

This is an award winning cafe. Great food, coffee and service. The review below must be sour grapes. May be they should look at themselves as a cafe like this does not win awards for bad service. Some people should just get a life.

For entree, we ordered the bread with Dukkah - it was far too salty but when we mentioned this to the waitress she said that both chefs had tasted it and 'it was fine'. We weren't impressed by this response but we didn't think much of it.

For the main, my partner ordered the bruschetta and I the toasted Turkish bread with artichoke, feta and mushrooms. The 'bruschetta' was actually some bread spread with a chicken pate and my toastie was like a dry brick. In fact, the plate with bruschetta was covered in salt as if the chefs were having some fun with us.

After a few bites, we realised the mains was virtually inedible. At this point, we reluctantly expressed some dissatisfaction with the food to the manager who quickly became very defensive and aggressive. He said 'get out before I throw you out' . Obviously, we were extremely frightened and upset by this , we just wanted to have a nice lunch.

Such a response is clearly inappropriate. I would never go there again and highly recommend against this awful establishment.
