    A steakhouse is not my normal choice of restaurants to eat out at. But I had heard some really good reviews about this place and it is very local so I thought we would try it.

    My experience was mixed. It is a pleasant room with a nice gas fire at the front and a courtyard out back. Decorated in a fairly typical steakhouse theme. The menu is quite extensive. There is a good array of steaks to choose from and plenty of alternatives for the non steak eater. What surprised me was the extremely limited wine list with only about 8 - 10 reds to choose from. I suppose that is the cost of being a suburban restaurant.

    No bread was served to us but we noticed later that another table got bread. Not sure if you had to ask for it or what. The service was quite good and the meals came out quickly, our steaks were done to order and the accompanying chips were excellent.

    Can't say the same about the sauces that accompanied the steaks. The red wine jus was a gravy, not a jus and the whiskey and pepper sauce really had no depth of flavor. The cheese platter was really poorly thought out. The apple supplied with it was floury and the only other thing on the plate to eat the cheese with was a few water crackers.

    I guess there are compromises that have to be made in a suburban steakhouse that does not get the "business card" trade. But I think this place would be improved a lot if they had a bread for all tables policy, a few more selections on the wine list and spent some more time developing their sauces.
