Was out in the beer garden recently, it was a hot day, the drinks were ice cold and the food was just amazing! Have also been there for a few functions over the years and I would recommend this place for any function, of any size, as they have a few different spaces depending on the numbers. I will definitely be having my next function there, hopefully in the beer garden! Will also be back during winter when they get the log fires going for a Reds and a Steak!
Really disappointing. Had a Malaysian Beef Rendang which was clearly a reheat from previous days, served with dried out rice. Massively overspiced and dry texture. We left half of it. The other meal was chicken which was OK. Overpriced at $75 for 2 main courses and 2 glasses of wine. Wouldn't go back.
If this is the Railway Club then what I have to write will apply to this place. Love their steaks! I think it's more worth it. The service is a bit slow but who cares, because the food is awesome!!! LOVE IT! My boyfriend and I go there once a fortnight/month after work. (We live far from it.) I highly recommend it.
I'm a local and enjoy going to the Railway regularly. Every time I eat there I'm blown away by the food. They had the launch of Spielberg's The Pacific there last week, I think the Railway is in the show, massive production! New menu started the night I visited, awesome stuff guys, everyone in our group loved it.
The beer garden is looking great and the heaters are keeping us smokers happy, as can be in Winter! I always find the staff very friendly.
The food at the Railway beats all other pubs in the area - this is not "pub-grub" it's restaurant food being served in a pub at reasonable prices. The bar staff are wicked and the service is always friendly - albeit the place can get pretty busy at times, so if its a restaurant you are looking for - go there, if you want great food at a "real" local pub - drop into the Railway - you won't be disappointed! Staff are often pre occupied and the setup does not help them to see who needs service. Last two meals have been pretty dreadful but it was a month ago. It appears they are not focused on the menu and offering value for money to drive drink orders. I live locally and would love to pop in more often if the value was there.
Unbelievable meal I had the the duck leg ravioli & a creme brulee whilst my wife tried the lamb with purple bawballs. Value was superb given the quality of food & presentation. However, the service was slack at best & needs to lift.
