Sunday yum cha at plume is certainly a lovely experience, all the dishes were very tasty and very good value for money. Service a wee bit slow but apart from that will certainly be back.

I always love the food at Plume. Having eaten at most yum cha venues around town I have always found the dishes to be of a very high quality with excellent attention to detail. The prawn dumplings, ginger duck, pork pies, taro puffs are always delicious and the chicken feet are some of the best in Melbourne. The trolleys roll out thick and fast, almost too fast sometimes, meaning you can end up with a table full of food in no time because the temptation is just too hard to resist.

I have found the wait staff varyingly attentive. They top up tea with regularity and clear empty dishes efficiently, though it can sometimes be a little difficult to get the attention of drinks waiters once you’ve ordered your first round.

With a dated feel, the décor feels almost retro but not in a fun kind of way and the prices would lend themselves to a more modern feel, but it is the quality food and fresh ingredients that always keeps me coming back.

Went last night, got seated right away even though we were a little early, staff were extremely attentive and the food was amazing! first time visit and I would definitely go back for another special occasion. Extremely satisfied, I was a bit worried after reading previous reviews but our experience was completely positive.

Food is tasty, but slightly more expensive than most Yum Cha possibly because of the presentation of the venue, which is classier and a bit more spacious.

Had to wait 10-15 minutes to get a seat when we had already booked. Long wait times after getting seated before even able to order drinks let alone mains. Wasn't particularly impressed with the $3.50 charge per glass of water (which came warm straight from the tap). Food was great, but, unfortunately, with service such as it is, I will never patron that restaurant again and can't recommend it to anyone else either.

Sigh. Plume used to be the pinicale of fine chinese dining, these days its a shell of its former self. What happened?

The service at this restaurant is shocking. We made a reservation for a table for 5, and they put 5 chairs around a square table that should really seat 2. When we enquired with the manager, he shrugged us off. Their terrible service ruined our lunch gathering. Was very disappointed as we have been regular customers for years. Their food is mediocre, it used to be a good restaurant because it is spacious with good service, but it seems that has deteriorated as well.

Have had yum cha here a number of times, and it never fails to disappoint. I have no complaints about service, which is generally pretty good, but the food varies from really bad to good, but it is never excellent. It is also very expensive.

I quite like this restaurant. It's easy to get to and there is always parking available. We have been going to Plume's for many years and have never been disappointed with the food. Service has only been bad once. I remember one time being a little ill and not being able to finish my meal. The waiter was over in a flash asking what the problem was. Coffee is very bad as it leaves a dry rustic taste in my mouth. Machine needs a good clean out. Would go again.

This is a shifty restaurant. Be very careful when paying the bill. I have eaten yum cha here twice and on both occasions the bill had been manipulated. The staff takes the bill away to calculate the total and circle a few extra items. The first time we thought was a mistake but the second time we pre-added the number of dishes and when it came back it had an extra two items circled. Make sure they calculate the bill in front of you. Very disappointing. Will not eat here again!
