My hubby and I go to Plume at Highpoint specifically for their Yum Cha. The last time we went there was on Monday, and we enjoyed our meal as there weren't too many of us customers waiting for the trolleys to come past. Definitely try their wide range of really yummy dumplings, but don't expect much for 'service', especially during public holidays and special occasions, such as Mother's Day.

It could get very noisy and you'll have to wait a long time for those trolleys to come out of the kitchen. The pricing for their yum cha isn't too bad, though, considering Plume is the only Chinese resto in the area that serves yum cha.

Watch the staff offering yum cha from trolleys. We went today and had to argue with a lady who was refusing to take back a dish that we had said we didn't want and she had already put it on our tab. Very pushy and we also noticed that a staff member added two dishes to our tab when she had only given us one. This was only corrected when we asked a waiter to check the number of dishes on our table. Not what you want to be worrying about at a relaxed meal with family!

We attended this restaurant for a birthday party. Everything was wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was it's location as I don't much like going to restaurants that are part of a large shopping complex. Interior needs a bit of a face lift.

We were still being seated when the staff were trying to set food on our table. Also there is no price guide. But otherwise the food was good.

We've been going here for yum cha for years and yes, the service isn't great, but it is 'yum cha' (rush rush) and expected. The food is great, especially the dumplings. It gets extremely busy on Mother's day, Father's day etc so booking is essential.

Service was terrible - got glared at every time we declined to take a dish from a trolley - became quite amusing by the end. Food was average and overpriced. Need some yum cha competition in the west...

Great yum cha! But 'vegetarian-friendly'? There are only three vegetarian main dishes on the menu, two virtually identical (stir-fried mixed vegetables, one with beancurd, one without). Some more thought here would be great.

Great to find a good Chinese restaurant out of the CBD hussle and traffic hassle. Booked a table for 11 am on a Sunday morning and were overwhelmed with service, trolleys made their way to us and we were surrounded by fantastic choice and quality of food. Later, 1 pm as we left they were queued up outside, having to take a number to be admitted in order. Advice: book a table and get there earlier rather than later. I thought the price of $150 for 4 adults and 2 children was a bit expensive but I could be wrong, the food was terrific and we'd look to go back again.

The food here is really great. Weekends are extremely busy, and if you are not prepared to wait for a seat then don't bother. Weekdays for yum cha is far less busy and you will get a seat without waiting. I have eaten at the Shark Fin House and Dragonboat in Lt Burke Street, and the quality of Plume food matches, and sometimes exceeds, that of the aforementioned restaurants. Worth a try, particularly if you want to avoid going into the city. Recommended!

Well I wasn't expecting much having read a couple of average reviews. But we thought we'd give it a go anyway since we live close by and we're very glad we did. The food was great - lots of variety and some different dishes to anything we'd ever seen before. The service was exceptional - friendly, polite, accommodating, English-speaking and overall very impressive.
