Unfortunately, seems to have changed hands, bruschetta base charcoal and inedible, we were placed next to busy toilet/kitchen door exit, asked to be moved in 1/2 empty restaurant and told not possible being fully booked, it remained 1/2 empty whilst we were there.?

Requested risotto from menu, told not possible on a Saturday night to prepare. Poor service, only a hint if lamb ragu sauce in pappardelle and inadequate serving size. Don't waste your time or money.

This place used to be great but it recently changed hands and the new owners are very rude. We ordered take away pizzas and they were all extremely burnt underneath, as in completely charcoaled and inedible. Also, one of the toppings was not what we ordered. I rang them to complain and they hung up on me twice. We didn't have time to order new pizzas, but I went back to the restaurant to show them the burnt pizza, hoping they would offer a refund, but they refused. They said if I didn't like it I should go to Domino's across the road. I tried to argue with them but their English was not that good. After spending $50 on pizzas that we couldn't eat, I managed to get only $10 back.

First of all I got to point out that I am an Italian visiting Melbourne city as a tourist. Since I live in the area I've already checked out few places people suggested me as "fine Italian restaurant" and this is by far the only one standing to it's title I can say.

The staff is almost 100% Italian, very friendly and polite. The atmosphere created wisely with colored tablecloth is elegant but at the same time cozy.

Not just Pizzas are Amazing as other reviewers pointed out but pasta and risotto are just fabulous as well!

Definitively coming back and suggesting it to both Italians
and Aussies! This is Real Italian Food guys!

This is a great pizza place! absolutely beautiful pizza, great fresh flavours, simple ingredients but absolute bliss! This is truly authentic pizza, made traditionally.
Would recommend highly!

I first read about this restaurant in The Epicure. I was eager to try it out, and was so pleased when I did. This restaurant is great! The staff are so welcoming and extremely friendly. Very efficient and helpful.

The pizza's are all delicious, with regular changes to the special menu with in season produce creating delightful combinations. The antipasto plates are amazing. Perhaps, a little expensive, but well worth it. Make sure you save some room for dessert, as the pizzas are great! We are regulars to this restaurant and will be for a long time to come! Enjoy.

I love pizza! In fact, some may call me a pizza snob. The pizza at Pizzeria Amici is awesome! If you are after a myriad of toppings in large amounts, go elsewhere and leave the tables free for us!

The food is excellent. If you are looking for cheap pizza to fill a hole this is not the place. This is about delecate flavours and pizza cooked to perfection. I have taken many guests there on business from overseas and inter-state and they always rave about the place.

Pizzeria Amici is where you go, when you want authentic, traditional italian pizza, quality fresh ingredients, perfect pizza bases, food made with soul. It is not where you go if you want an Western Style Pizza overfilled with processed toppings made by someone who has no idea of what a real pizza is (Simon).

Pizzeria Amici is where you go if you actually have an appreciation of the Italian Culture and if you have values that are based on tradition, family and simplicity. We have lived in Melbourne for 3 years now and have tried more Pizza's than I care to remember and we keep going back to Amici's. Food, the Pizzas are perfect (Michele is a master).

Ambience, is really the wrong word, atmosphere is a better description, I don't always go to a restaurant for ambience, I sometimes go to places because they are bustling, energetic and alive, that is Amici's. Service, is second to none, you will rarely find hosts prepared to go above and beyond as Elena does. Value, please! You are not at a pizza franchise that pays 15 year olds to pump out processed pizza!

Anywhere that can provide a meal that is an experience worth remembering for $15 - $17 is value for money in my book. Perhaps, some reviewers should just save Pizzeria Amici the trouble and stick to 13 numbers when ordering their pizzas!
