Ate at Rizza Farrow last Saturday evening and that was a real treat. We were on our way to a show and explained that we didn't have a booking but if possible a table for three and needed to be out at 7.50pm (it was then 7.20pm). That wasn't a problem! We had beers and water on the table within 5 minutes, and pizzas at 7.40pm. They were, without a doubt the absolute best pizzas we have ever eaten - amazing base, and we shared the spicy italian sausage pizza and the duck pizza. Moist and packed with flavour.
We noticed the tables around us were really enjoying their choices and we are going back soon to start on the rest of the menu. We love Pizza Farro!

My wife and I have just moved to High Street in the last couple of months. Italian is not always on the top of my preferred cuisines as she will attest but we're aiming to support strong local restaurant offerings. Pizza Farro looked charming from the outside and always appeared to have a laid back buzz inside with perfect lighting.
We continued on our High Street experiment and were not disappointed. We usually like to BYO (corkage $6) but our first visit was spontaneous so we fetched a bottle of the house red (around $25) which was delightful and complimented the flavours and textures we were about to experience.
We like to share so went for a Pappardelle Bolognese sauce $17 (also can opt for Spaghetti) which included beef and pork mince cooked in a rich red sauce. For those who aren't familiar with Pappardelle, it is a broad fettuccine and like everything at Pizza Farro it is homemade with love. The name actually derives from the verb “pappare,” to gobble up and that we did - yum!
On both visits we've delicately gorged (so as not to rush) on the Arancini infused with porcini mushrooms, served with a mint, coriander and yoghurt dipping sauce (G/F) $10.50. These are smaller than your average arancini and so fun to eat, my favourite!
To round off our meal we had the Salsicce Piccante (Spicy Sausages) served with warm Spelt bread ($11.80), also great and take it lightly when I tell you this was our 'least' favourite, it's just that there's so much more to sample, we haven't even started on the pizza! Next time perhaps.
The skilled chef/owner exudes his passion in the place and his down to earth nature is contagious. Impeccable, helpful and memorable service, without pressure. The waiter recalled we requested chilli on our first visit (that just puts your faith back in customer service, and simply, just makes you feel good). The ambience is eclectically wooden and homely. We'll be returning again and most likely again and again.

Serves much better than average pizza in a nice family friendly and cozy atmosphere. Fantastic nuttela calzone desserts. But there is a downside: your bill will be literally twice as big as if you went to other pizza places in thornbury or northcote. Nevertheless, we still go quite a bit. But not as much as we would do if its prices were, say, 20% less.

My boyfriend and I were very impressed by Pizza Farro. The ambience is cosy with brick walls, warm lighting and retro Australiana curtains and an array of rolling pins hanging from the ceiling. We couldn't fault the service, either. Staff were helpful, attentive and very friendly. In terms of the menu, if you are only wheat intolerant or wish to cut down on wheat consumption, go for the spelt based pizza or pastas they specialise in. Expect the bases to be tasty although naturally not have the stretch of wheat bases.
Otherwise, their gluten free bases are surprisingly flavoursome and crisp. Their toppings are things like prosciutto, bocconcini, pine nuts, broccolli, Italian sausage gorgonzola and are great quality and fresh, with vegetarian options too. We felt satisfied without the bloat, and for $46 for two soft drinks, an entree, a pizza and a nutella calzone, we couldn't complain!

I've eaten at the restaurant and taken take away pizzas various times now and it has always been great. They have a huge variety of gluten free pizzas and they taste fantastic. The staff are friendly which will make me keep coming back.

Food is consistently good - great pizzas but also very nice Italian dishes. Service is great. Ambience is nice and casual - great for a get-together for a quick bite with friends (though it felt to me to be a little on the cold (not temperature) side - I think this is because the rolling pins hanging from the ceiling are arranged in a very orderly fashion.

A very nice, though not-so-family restaurant that epitomizes Carlton's pizza prowess. The spelt pizza bases really are something else. A great Friday night bite. Highly recommended.
