We went on a busy Friday night and the service was much better than I expected after reading other reviews - they must have lifted their game! The food was delicious but the servings were on the small side, particularly considering the price. At roughly $50 a head for a banquet I was surpised to walk out feeling satisfied rather than really full.

We have been visiting this restaurant regularly when in Melbourne and it is a perennial favourite. No place outside Greece does Greek food like Melbourne and Pireaus is part of this city's rich culture. The restaurant inside and out oozes ambience and we cannot fault the food or the service. We love to share a banquet over a bottle of good red and enjoy the flavours. What could be better?

I went there about a year ago and the food and service were good and the place was busy as it was a saturday night. I recently went there for lunch and the service was terrible, staff were inattentive and just dumped the food on the table. They didn't come back to see if we wanted more drinks and it felt like we were disturbing them when we asked for anything. Food was ok nothing fantastic sea food was overdone, lamb was nothing to write home about.

Last week we had a truly awful experience at Pireaus Blues. I first came to this restaurant a few months ago and had a great meal with decent service. Sad then that it seems to have gone downhill so quickly. Food was average at best and service was very unfriendly, as if they were doing us a favour. Cannot recommend.

Went there on a busy Saturday night, and the place was packed. It was rather noisy, and you had to literally shout to maintain a conversation. I felt that the food was a little too salty, although the platter of dips was good.

A very pleasant experience. We walked in early with no booking and were seated promptly. Nice fit out with good lighting and good service. We had the chili feta and grilled octopus as entrees. Nay to the former, they do it better at othellos but not that bad and a big yay to the second. Tender marinated tentacles grilled perfectly, I could eat a platter of this alone.The goat was perfect, served in a earthenware pot with jus and potatoes, absolutely sublime.
My partner had the lamb fricasse and found it rustic and delicious, seasoned just right although she commented a lamb shank would serve better in this dish. An overall great dining experience. Good value as well, big enough serves to go around and light and fluffy pita to mop it up with. Good Greek food served up as yia yia watches from the wall.

Fantastic food. Been here many times and never had a bad meal. The service is attentive and the banquet menu's great value. Last time I went with a small group and we had the $38 banquet as there were a few non-seafood eaters and it was perfect without being way too much. Make sure you book on the weekends!

Great place, arrived early without a booking. Staff were only to pleased to seat the 4 of us. Before you know it the place was Buzzzzing with clientele all seemed to be having a great time and enjoying the food and atmosphere. A constant flow of want to be dinners, for once it was not us, we already had a table. Highly recommend the Goat.
