Beautiful small restaurant. The wood fired pizzas were delicious and good value for money. The staff were all friendly and very attentive, we will be going back again and will recommend it to anyone! Fantastic!

The pizzas here are lovely. Most if not all are of the thin crusted variety and quite crispy, with quality toppings. The seafood linguine was very tasty indeed. We were seated next to the woodfired oven with a direct view of the pizza chef's creating the pizzas. The staff were very warm and attentive. The pizza chef played up with his dough tossing up high as he noticed us staring in amazement. All in all a lovely night out with friends.

If you're into authentic italian style rustic woodfired pizza then Piazza 51 has got to be the way to go. Excellent pizza choices from the classic to the gourmet to the unsual. Plus some great tasting kitchen favourites (arancini are superb!). You know this place is good cos 70% of the people there are Italians! So are most staff which adds to the authentic atmosphere. Large selection of Italian beers and wines too. Only problem is you must bring cash, no credit cards. And I recommend booking ahead. Every time we have been its been full.

Piazza 51 an authentic experience with toppings of fun! Last Sunday I had an experience unlike any other I have encountered in my life. Together with friends we sat in a quaint small Italian establishment, otherwise known has Piazza 51.

Upon entering we were immediately drawn to the personal attention the waiters gave and their lively Italian personalities. The place oozes with old style rustic charm and the environment is that of a Neapolitan hideaway, tucked into one of the many laneways of Naples. Instead, it's on Sydney Road Brunswick and you would never have known!

After sitting for no longer than five minutes, our Italian waiter disperses menus, informs us of the specials and takes our orders for drinks. All the while making you feel as though you are at a friend’s house and not a restaurant. It’s something not very easy to achieve at most eating establishments.

We proceed to order pizza's chosen from an exciting menu of many choices. If you are looking for pineapple and ham, then, perhaps other more commercial eating places may suit your style.

Our pizzas arrive, all looking fantastically sumptuous, very authentic and that old word, ' Rustic'. Eating my pizza, drinking some wine, chatting with friends and talking some Italian with the waiters made the already fabulous tasting pizza all the more delicious and satisfying.

Maybe this particular night, the staff were happy, spoken Italian was flowing, the pizza maker an artist, and most importantly the food was great! I have never walked out of a restaurant hugging staff, genuinely enjoying every moment I was there and enjoying everything that was served, from the water to the wine, to the pizza to the affogato!

The saddest part of the evening was when I left, but then knowing that I have access to one of the most authentic Italian restaurants in Australia, whenever I choose, always makes my tummy rumble and puts a smile on my face. I wish to thank the following establishments for bringing my taste buds joy and appealing to my fashion sense, Piazza 51 (Sydney Rd Brunswick), Cavallaro & Sons Pasticceria (Footscray) best Cannoli in Melbourne.

Asserting itself as not only an institution of Brunswick, but of the North. You don't book, you might have trouble. But there's a reason for this. Incredible service and mouth watering food. A very modern vibe but don't be surprised if you're surrounded by tables of old italians, such is the authenticity of the food. Highly professional and unique table staff with thick Italian accents only add to the experience. Pizzas are the specialty!

This great little rustic place is great for a local suburb with great authentic food. The menu is mouth-watering and you just can't wait to try the food especially the Nutella Pizza. I had the Misto Mare and was disappointed at the topping as there wasn't even a handful of fish on the pizza. Although the dough was great and extremely tasty. The Nutella pizza definitely a winner!!

Great thin authentic wood fire pizza made by natives, friendly service and attentive. Very busy Fri/Sat nights must book. *No credit cards, don't get caught we almost didn't have enough cash. I don't blame them card fees are a rip off for merchants.

Certainly authentic & quality ingredients, but if you're hungry, I would suggest ordering 2 pizzas. A little pricey for what you got I thought.

Very authentic Italian wood-fired pizza, similar to a lot of the pizzas tried as I ate my way through Italy. The kitchen meals are also high quality. Highly recommended.
